I absolutely HATE the grand entrance to the reception where the bridesmaids and groomsmen get announced and then the bride and groom come in and walk under a arch that the bridesmaids and groomsmen make with their arms in the air. Do you know what I'm talking about? I think it looks so retarded. Plus my groom is 6'5 and it will just be awkward. Are there any alternatives for the grand entrance?

Honestly I dont like it either (probably b/c FH is also 6'5'' and I am 6') so that wouldnt work too well for us...I still want them introduced because I think it is the right thing to do, but I am going to have them each stand quite a few feet apart from each other but still in rows and have them light sparklers and FH and I are going to walk in between the rows of sparklers into the reception. I think it will be the perfect 4th of July entrance!

Thank You!! a person who sees eye to eye on that with me. I think that it is very silly to crouch down through the underarm tunnel and my sister/MOH is trying to coerce me to do it...NO I SAID!! I don't know how else you could do it beside to just walk in...which is what i'm planning on doing

i actually like it BUT i won't be doing it bc i only have 2 BM, 2GM and then 2 Jr BM. . .so it would be the shortest tunnel ever and just look silly
i want everyone to walk in and then stand on the edge of the dance floor - then we will walk in and start our first dance!

we probably won't do it either since FH is so much taller than me and we have a 2 GM and 2 BM. but i wouldn't go so far as to say it looks retarded...i think some people get really cute pictures out of it...
we're probably just going to have them line up on either side of us for pictures..but nothing 'grand'.. knowing me i'd trip and fall into a sparkler or something

why not just get announced in as usual.. but just have the GMs and BMs not create an arch with their arms.. just like a path for you to walk through the middle.
and maybe they can hold something.. one girl suggested her BP hold sparklers if i recall correctly... maybe you can come up with something too.
