I hate my boss

Here is the latest in him passive agressive ramblings.

Subject: WHAT KIND OF PLACE AM I RUNNING HERE



I have addressed the issue of making and receiving personal phone calls before and as I walk through the office I still constantly hear people on calls that clearly are not related to company business. Anyone who absolutely must use company time to conduct personal business should immediately seek out a company who accepts such activity. We do not. From this point forward there will be one written warning then termination.

Another issue is Lunch. Full time employees are afforded an hour for lunch daily. That does not mean leaving for an hour then bringing lunch back with you and eating it at your desk. I am not into micro managing people’s behavior and I refuse to baby-sit. I expect a certain degree of professionalism and sense of responsibility. I would like each of you to consider how this communication applies to you. If it does please adjust your behavior immediately. Anyone who wishes to discuss these issues further, come see me.



By 'come see me' he means, feel free to quit.
I work with MOTHERS. They can't be ont he phone ever?

By the way- we are 'afforded' an hour because we are not PAID FOR IT.
cAN ANYONE OUTLINE THE LABOR LAWS FOR ME?
I work 8:30-5:30- and they call it a 40 hour week.
It's 45 hours, less lunch.
Am i wrong in thinking that's not right?
I thought- for every 8 hours, they must PAY you for 1 of them, plus 2 15 minute breaks or something?

Geez--that is a wonderful way to speak to your employees. Thanks for scolding me dad.

breaks, yes. 15 minutes for every 4 hours worked, I THINK.

Nobody in this place would be able to survive working for your boss!! Personal phone calls and lunch breaks are what it's all about!!

Sounds like someone just really pissed him off today. Follow the rules for the rest of the week and then Monday morning everything will be back to normal.

Oh, no no no- this guy is like this ALL the time.
This morning, I was in the kitchen area making an english muffin, he comes in and says- 'Man, you guys have it made'. I KNOW that he meant to imply we weren't at our desks.
So I said (in all my lack of sleep frustrated by my 16 hour days ness)- 'How is that- HOW do I have it MADE? Do you want an english muffin, is that it?'
