I HATE MY CAR

I just hate it..regret the day I ever bought a Volkswagon.

So last night I am getting in my car after a wake and it wouldn't start..thought it was the battery had some of my friend's fiance's friends try to jump it no luck...had to have it towed to some place in Plainview....and its the starter that is SHOT!! The car is 2 1/2 years old WHAT THE F&&&?????

Well thank God this did not happen in the ghetto where I work or as I was driving...and that my FI was able to come and get me

I hear you... I had a 2001 Jetta (leased) and wound up taking a loss on it, paying off the lease and buying a toyota!! the car was the worst and VW did NOTHING for me!! after I broke down TWICE on the lie, FH said that's it!!

I hope youhave a better ending

Basically VW *****!!!!! I have this car in the shop atleast once every 2 months!!!

It is the worst decision I ever made IF its not one thing its another...its just been such headache,...thank god for the warranty

I have a 2003 Jetta ...it has been in THREE times in the last year for transmission problems...not to mention all the 'little' things that go wrong...a section of lights on the dash don't stay on, had to bring it in so they could fix the shocks on my trunk bc I needed two people to open and close it, the front door was creaking - as if the car was 10 years old or something

FH wants to trade it in sooo bad...I told him we'll decide after the wedding and we get somewhere to live...in the mean time I visit VW at least once every couple of months...

Kathleen I'm sooo sorry you are having such a hard time with your car. As you said, thankfully you were not where you work!

Looks like I'm in the minority when I say my VW has never been a problem (although its 2003), although I did get the thing in the mail re: the electric seats (& possible burns!!!)

I think I'm in the minority also.. my Jetta (2004 and leased, thank god!) is actually alright. But you have to understand that my other car was a 95 Neon which got my blood and soul put into it every other WEEK! So this car is a dream!

Just got back from a 3 hour ordeal with tow truck !!!!!!! HATE VOLKWAGON ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. Tow truck took 2 hours to get there...thank God I had my Moms car and was not stuck somewhere. I had it towed last night to a shop in Plainview and then waited for them to tow it to a VW dealer...because thank God this starter is still covered under the damn warranty

I had an '02 Jetta- the problems never ended. I fought and fought with VW, and they wouldn't help me. They told me each dealership is independently owned and I'd have to take it up with the dealership. The lights out, the emission coil, everything!

I feel your pain.

Just about 1 year after I had it, it snowed- really bad and some kid driving to fast, hit it while parked from behind. THere was a suburban in front of the Jetta. For force of the impacked pushing the Jetta under the Suburban. It was totaled!

i WAS IN a bad accident over the summer and I secretly hoped and prayed that it was totaled but here I am still driving it. I have a love hate relationship with it...it was my first brand new car but I just HATE THAT its in the shop all the time

Sorry to hear about your car troubles! I completely know what it's like. Up until last year, I was driving an 82 Camaro!! I was putting money into it all the damn time! Finally I got a new car...

I am in the minority also of Volkswagen owners. I bought my Passat almost 1 year ago (brand new 2004 Passat) and LOVE it. I have had no problems with it and it handled wonderfully in the snow. With the Camaro I was skidding everywhere! I got stuck twice last winter in Far Rockaway ay 10 PM when my car wouldn't start! Not the place you want to be.

Kathleen, that stinks. I hate when cars give you trouble. I have a '00 Saturn and just about 1 year after I bought it I was stranded in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania because the car wouldn't start. I turned out to be a faulty battery and then 2 years after that my alternator died. You think when you buy brand new that it wouldn't FALL APART!

I'd try to trade it in and get a Toyota or a Honda. I have a '98 Corolla and I love it!

yeah- when i got rid of my vw i got a toyota solara- LOVE IT!!

it is in the shop today for an oil change and some other stuff- and will be 1/2 the price and 1/2 the headache it would have been with my jetta
