I hate the Peg carseat. AND I hate when I choose the wrong thing!
I just feel like it's uncomfortable for the baby. My friend came over last night w. the Graco Snugride (which I was originally registered for) and it seemed so much better for the baby.
Does anybody have any opinions on this? Is it a terrible waste of money to go buy a new one? I would need the two bases and the whole bit....
ETA: Do you think since she's 2 months I should just get the toddler-infant seat at this point? She's probably around 8.5-9 lbs. Still kinda little...

She definately still needs the infant seat. If your carseat is from BRU, they have really good return policies. Tell them you are not happy with it, dont feel safe with it. Do you still have a box? that would be a plus and you can definately return it.

Buy the new one and sell the old one either in the newspaer or on ebay at least you will get something for it

Jenny, I believe you can use the infant-to-toddler carseat with a newborn, even though it may seem a little big for a while. The disadvantage is that you can't use it with a travel system or snap-n-go type stroller.

You can use a reg car seat!! But as Niha said you don't have the advantage of taking them out easily.
I wasn't happy w/ our carseat either. I went to BRU & I asked the guy how do I put it in so Patrick wouldn't fall over. (Which he along w/ the seat did when I made turns) He told me I picked a crap carseat & to get it out of my car & bring it to cust service. Where he met me w/ the carseat we have now. No receipt or box needed!! Gotta love BRU for that!!!

Re: I hate my carseat.
Tracy .. I was just going to recommend the same thing! BRU is really great about taking things back ... especially if you're getting something else!
Jenny ... I switched my carseat from the Peg to the snugride for the same reason. I wasn't sure when I registered (I got the peg stroller & just registered for the compatible infant seat) but then read about the snugride. We got the Snap-n-go b/c I didn't want to change the stroller as well. I love the seat & I'm glad I made the switch! (Plus the snug is about $50 cheaper & you can use that $$ on something else!)
Give it a shot w/BRU ... the worst they could say is they can't. Good luck!

Re: I hate my carseat.
well I bought the Snugride and will try it out. I am going to try to return the Peg if I am happier with it. The guy at the store said that the Peg is known for being very cushiony and maybe that's why I feel it's too 'snug'. But he did also say the Peg is around 5-6 pounds heavier! And the handle is known to not be very easy to deal with.
So we will see!

You can sell the Peg on ebay if BRU will not take it back- although they are super good about that stuff.

I have that carseat and think that Madeleine looks really uncomfortable in it. A friend of mine has the same one and feels the same way.

Re: I hate my carseat.
I am registered for the Peg Perego carseat and now I am totally worried!! I was going to get the Graco SnugRide but it won't fit into our Peg Pliko stroller! What did you ladies with the Grace SnugRide carseat do for a stroller base? My shower isn't until May 1st and I still have time to change the registry!

Trish, I had a Graco SnugRide and I have a Peg Perego stroller. We used the snap & go and it was the greatest investment we made!!

Now I feel like a freak because I have the Peg seat and love it.
It's a bit on the heavy side, but I was going to start weight lifting again soon anyway...

Re: I hate my carseat.
I am going to finish the registry this weekend and will look into the snap and go. But I am tempted to keep my Peg carseat because we've spent so much time looking into it. But BTDT mom's are the best recommendation, so I will have to see!

Re: I hate my carseat.
I switched also from the Peg carrier to the Graco & use the Snap-n-Go for carrier. (I kept the Peg stroller) the graco gets a better safety rating than the Peg & is about $50 cheaper! BUT, I have to say that the Kolcraft stroller frame has a much more roomy storage basket underneath. The snap n go's is pretty small. If I knew the difference, I would've went with the other one b/c it's very hard to carry anything. BBB carries the Kolcraft. So you might want to go get it yourself & try it out if you have a registry at BRU.
Good luck!

trish, don't panic! you can always see how you feel about the peg and then change it if it doesn't work out.
We are going to try the graco today and see if we like it better. We stil like the look and feel of the peg, so the graco has to wow us with comfort and ease to carry in order for us to keep it!

I am glad to hear this because its exactly what I plan to do! I registered for the Peg Venezia, but heard great reports about the Graco snug ride seat, so I figured I will use the infant seat with the Snap n Go anyway. There is a cost savings on the Graco, but of course, the style I chose is only $30 less I don't care as long as it works out better. We shall see!
