I hate my FMIL more every day!
Okauy..this is a new record or something with my in alws..
last weekend it was WW3 because I said something to FH's BIL about his gratuitous use of hateful language
hen the thanksgiving thing
and NOW...
FH spoke with his mom, and she spoke with her cousins who were like 'Why didn't we know they were engaged' and so instead of saying 'oh I'm sorry, I guess with everything that's been going on, I forget to tell you..' or whatever she said 'well you were on the list of people I asked them to send engagement announcements to, but they didn't want to.' OK..we went over this TEN months ago when we got engaged...I only made them for IMMEDAITE family, mostly for my side b/c I have a huge family and it was too many phone calls, and I knew I wouldn;t be setting a date for awhile, so STD's were a long way off. So I sent it on my side to aunts and uncles and some cousins....these people are like FMIL's cousins..SHE should have told them..and she should have backed us up, not made us look like sh*t because she's angry we didn't do it HER way (which would ahve been to send it to everyone)..I mean first of all they're expensive with teh photos and all, and secondly I really didn't want to send it out to a lot of people. We didn't know (and still don't know) who we will and will not be able to invite, so i wanted to avoid the faux pas of sending an engagement announcement to someone who we wouldnlt be able to invite to the wedding. I HATE my FMIL..that ***** can't back us up for anything.
And my mom's been saying she wants to have a dinner for us and now FMIL wants to have her OWN separate arty for her family b/c she wants to invite a million people or something, and the funny thing is that my family is both larger and closer than theirs, and yet they see the need to invite all these people. and the best news is that she heard that it's poor etiquette to have an e-party when there's no date set. What? ONe has nothing to do with the other. I really don't know what she's playing at, but she's really pissing me off. If she feels like giving us the $10,000 extra we'd need to have it at north ritz club, then we could book a date right now...
It just adds to the suspicion that they're all waiting for us break it off. They've ben waiting for 5.5 years, and they've been trying their best to make it happen. I wonder if they'll still do it when we're married.
UGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ETA: ANNNND speaking of engagemnt announcements..when we came home form disney 9where he proposed) I made an email with inserted photos from the moment he propsed, etc, and our personal story of it, i sent it to our parents and our best frineds..his mom forwarded it to EVERYONE...her distant relatives (which just amplifies how much the announcement thing is BS cause they knew from the email) he neighbors, people at WORK. I was so angry. I really felt violated. It was something so personal (and I did make that clear) and it became this public thing......
