I'm in so much freaking pain right now.. I'm trying to just go home and drug myself like I usually do.. but no one is around for me to tell I'm leaving and I dont have the energy to walk to the back and tell anyone..
am I the only one that is in SO much pain on that FIRST day? this is EVERY MONTH and has been since I was 10 years old!

UGH! I feel your pain. Literally, right now, I feel it! It was so bad this morning (and I didn't eat dinner last night) that I actually almost fainted on the train going into work. I was shaking all over and someone (by the grace of God) got up and gave me a seat. So I stayed at work for like 2 hours and left early. Now I'm home and waiting for my Aleve to kick in. It's the onylt hing that helps me!

I feel your pain I am like that the first 2 day of my . it is so annoying - it stops me in my tracks. It has been getting a little better

I understand what you're going through. I drug myself up with 4 or 5 Aleeve then lay in the bottom of the shower with the hot water hitting my tummy - then I go and pass out!

jill- have you tried extra strength midol? the blue pill? its the only thing that works for me.. but it makes me 'high'.. and it takes like an hour to kick in! I took it 10 minutes ago and I want to just crawl into the corner and cry!
I'm about to just walk out and leave a note on my desk saying 'its been a month'!

Mine's the 2nd day. My BC was supossed to help but it never has. I keep telling FH that i don't want girl children if they are going to suffer like I do.

I think I've tried it, I mean I've tried EVERYTHING! From tylenol to vicodin!!! (And boy does that vicodin help! LOL! It makes me so happy!) But so far, Aleve is the only thing that helps. And for some reason, it doesn't bother my stomach like it does to most people. My stomachs made of lead I guess. lol!
ETA: Dani- they put me on BC when I was 16 to help with cramps and it never did. I've tried a few kinds and then gave up. They really make me moody and bloated and nauseous.

Is it possible that you have endometriosis? I've had it for a long time and had SEVERE pain -- to the point that I was literally vomiting from pain. I recently had the endo excised and it's made a world of difference.

no, its not endo.. i've been checked, my friend has that BAD... they THOUGHT i did, but i didn't. I just get a cyst on one side that comes and goes.
I hate an infection for years that went unnoticed (because i was so young and didn't know any better) and that made things a little worse.
I was put on BC when i was 18 for the cramps and irregular period- well it helped the irregularity i went from getting it for 7-9 days ever 2½-3½ weeks to getting it 3-4 days ever 4 weeks (thank god for that) but it didn't help the cramps AT ALL---AND I ended up with kidney problems!
the only thing that works for me is midol xstrength and a shot of blackberry brandy... it makes me numb and relaxed. but I can't really do that at work or on dance days (today is a dance day ) I have in the past and you can tell i'm 'high'.
so right now its just midol... that finally kicked in on my way home, I was down the block from my house... I'll have to chase it with two tylonal in about an hour then 3 hours after that I have to do another midol.

Eek! Good luck dancing tonight. I know thats the last thing I wanna do.

I have felt the exact same way since I was 11 years old. I told my secretary today that if I don't have kids (I'm 38) I will be really pissed that I went through all this period crap for nothing!!
