From the time I got Oscar, I really hated PETCO. When I first got him, I bought toys there and I later found the same exact ones for less than half the price at WALMART.
Now I just noticed that the bag of food that I bought last week from PETCO has an expiration date of 10/2004.
My PETCO never has any wagons available.......so if I want to buy a huge bag of dog food, plus maybe some scooper bags and bones, how am I supposed to carry it???

I completely agree. Plus the people they have working there are usually not that educated, which bothers me.
They are definitely overpriced. I only go in there to pet the cats and an occassional toy if I feel like spoiling my little ones.

Personally, I like Petsmart better. Also, I use Doctors Foster and Smith (www.drsfostersmith.com). They are not necessarily cheap, but they have different stuff from petsmart and petco, and they have really quality stuff.

You would be appaulled if you knew how much these pet stores mark up the prices!!! I work in the industry and know how much they pay for the toys...ugh!!!!!

And don't ever try their grooming service. I went to the one in Union Square (out of desperation) and they made my Shih-Tzu look like she had a lamp shade on her head. I normally cut her hair short and leave her ears long, but they cut her ears so short and it has been over a year and they still don't grow back right.
AND, to top it off, when we were on line to pay, Emmie made a HUGE poop on the floor and it stank really bad. They didn't have towels available, I had to ask someone behind the counter. She NEVER goes on the floor in-dorrs! So, I guess that's what she thought of the place!
