This guy came to my door in December selling magazines subscriptions and I actually was gullable and bought one, he said the money was for a kids chairity blah blah blah. Months later I do not get the magazine so I called the magazine company and they said they do not have my name in the system.
Then found my reciept and contacted the company but no answer and I emailed with no answer! I went on consumer reports and the company was on there and all scam reports! The people on there said some got their magazine a year later or not at all!
Just now a guy comes to the door with the same sob story and and FH answered and the guys says please be nice the guy next door just screamed at me. So I am hearing this and I go to the door and say what are you selling he was shocked I said that before he finished his story and he said magazines and I say well thats nice I bought one months ago and got nothing YOU ARE SELLING A SCAM and I slammed the door!
FH was mad that I was mean to him until I explained what happened. Good thing I was home or FH might have bought one too.
Please girls do not give in to these kids!!!!
Oh not to mention this just happened at 8:30! SCAM Written all of this!!!

I am always weary of things like that and I usually dont fall for sob stories.
Like a person in the train who 'lost or had their wallet stolen' and have no way to get home story. Dont fall for that because if it were true they could go to any police officer and report it and they would get them on the train for free.

oh wow, that stinks! my friends BF did this and spent like $100 on mags and never got them either.
the other day i was at michaels and a kid was selling all kinds of 'stuff' (cookies, candies, toys, etc) for some charity and he was just so sweet and polite that i had to buy something...hopefully he wasn't scamming me, but it was only $7 and i felt i did a good deed

I once was in Roosevelt Field like maybe 2 years ago around spring break... these frat boys were selling magazines to win a free speing break or something... I was in a sorority and had been to Acapulco myself (where he was going)... so I was a gullible jerk and bought like 3 mag subscriptions... NEVER got anything!!
Im such a sucker and it wasnt even for a good cause.. i learned my lesson!!
I have to be honest though, I do buy things like cookies or candy or something that little kids sell for like basketball teams or something. I just feel good about helping!
Im sorry about your incident though... that stinks

I actually had this situation but i did receive my mags it was like 6/7 months later though! thank god because i need my sports illustrated! lol

I have the opposite problem - I started getting 3 magazines a month that I def did NOT sign up for! (One of them was Working Mother.. umm I'm not a mother.)
Apparently when I bought some makeup from elf they signed me up for all of them for a year for free. I'm making sure I save all those emails I sent them though just in case they decide to charge me!

I always hate people that show up ay my door and telemarketers. I always curse out the telemarketers and never open the door for strangers. You just can't do that anymore because you never know- it could be a fricken murderer!

That stinks! I hate those things too . . . But how do you know . . . I mean unless you go onto a website like consumer reports.
They should just stop allowing kids to sell things door to door and then no-one will be able to trust anyone who comes to sell things at the door b.c we know the kids are not allowed to do it!
