Oh my!!!
Well, are your invites a large or awkward shape? If they're not, you could go to the self-weighing machine and just see how much they weigh, then see how much that should cost.
Mine were weighed at .59, but I didn't like the stamps I could get, so I ended up putting two regular heart stamps on each (which totaled .84 cents). Plus I felt like that was more 'safe' in case they didn't weigh them right.
The $1.05 worries me. The other thing you could do is make sure you go back to the same post office where you got them weighed to get them mailed. Once they're accepted you shouldn't have a problem. How did you get three different prices?

Re: i HATE the post office
Square is usually a shape the PO considers unusual or awkward or special or whatever they term it.
Go back to the most expensive PO (if it's convenient) and have them do it again, or ask for a manager there and explain to them the situation. Just tell them you really need to know what the bottom line price is because it's time to start putting stamps on and there's no way you want everyone to go through all the extra work of hand canceling just for them to have insufficient postage and need to get mailed again. They should totally understand and be helpful.
Sorry you're going through this. It'll work out and invites will be in guests hands soon!

Mine are the same size and pocketfolds and cost us $1.00 and they were all sent with no problem.
ETA: try sending one to yourself or a close relative/friend to practice just in case. We did that and had no problems.

Re: i HATE the post office
I know that a square envelope definitely requires extra postage. Then it will also depend on the weight.
Which POs did you go to? I'd try to go to a main branch to quadruple check. Otherwise, go with the highest estimate. I think that's probably the right amount anyway.

OKAY that size is considered a parcel (cause you cant bend it) - mine were 7.5 x 7.5 (in the envelopes to mail, otherwise they were 7x7) and since they are pocketfold and cant be bended they cost me 1.51 to mail out... is your paper thick? As soon as its 6x6 or over its def at least a dollar since its conisdered a parcel

Re: i HATE the post office
I had the same problem - I took mine up to RI instead of deal with NY and it was no better. They were square over a $. I was like 'WHAT?' They finally then realized they were $1 each and that's what i ended up doing. Made me think I'd never tell anyone to do square pocketfolds- yet I got about 35 'those were awesome' comments so I have no complaints. :)

Re: i HATE the post office
i had to pay 19c more just 'in case' my envelope was to thick, it fit perfectly through the 'slot tester' but the girl said just in case someone is in a rush they might not take the time to put it in right and they will send it back, i was freaking mad
and to top it off, i had to choose 3 of the MOST UGLIEST STAMPS b/c of the stamp increase...it looked disgusting!
