I hate this Economy !!!!

My Maid of Honor just dropped out of my wedding due to financial reasons. I kinda knew it was coming she is a single mom with 2 kids and a dead beat dad I am not mad or anything like that .
I just really wanted her to be a part of my wedding so bad. I am not having a church wedding so I won't be having any readings for her to do either

Maybe you can ask her to give a small speech at your RD or at the reception to make her feel like part of your big day

i'm soooo sorry... I know its hard for a lot of people right now.. ESPECIALLY with Dead Beat DAD's...

ETA: You can have her read something for you... Also you can involved her although she won't be part of the bridal party..

That is a bummer. There is no reason why she can't do a reading at your ceremony. What's the problem with that????

i have a girl in my bp that doesnt help the other girls monetarily b/c she just doesnt have it her only exspense was her dress maybe u could pay half for her dress and thats all she has to worry about

is there any way around it....like just get her a cheaper dress or somethign she already has..moh wear diff dresses sometimes..and let her do her own hair n makeup?

ITA.... maybe she can get a similar dress... just cheaper... since she is the Maid of Honor.. hair & makeup can be worked out.. and then there are just things like shoes...

That $uck She probably feels really badly. I'm sorry! This economy is hurting everybody. I think the speech idea at the reception is a great idea!

ITA.... maybe she can get a similar dress... just cheaper... since she is the Maid of Honor.. hair & makeup can be worked out.. and then there are just things like shoes...

True -- as MOH she can wear a different dress -- maybe one she has already? Maybe scale back on the bachelorette / shower?

aww im sorry. you can still include her though, im having readings at my wedding.. they are love related not religious so you can have her so that.

or like the other girls said you can get her a cheap dress i did that for my 2 jr bms who couldnt afford a dress ($30 at pennys)

i saw these cute VIP passes somewhere ill see if i can find a pic, they are for important people who arent in the BP that you want around you that day (like getting ready or in the bridal suite) i thought they were a cute idea

I suggested to pay for half her dress but she wouldn't let me. She would still need shoes and a couple other things. She feels that she doesn't want to add more financial strain on me since FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves so she rather just drop out. I will find something for her to do so she will be a part of my wedding!

I already have all the dresses picked out ,the order was on hold just waiting to get my MaidOH measurements.
She is still going to help with everything else and I am so greatful for that.
I have a Matron also and she said if MOH can't contribute financially she could still help out.

I'm sure everything will work out fine I was just a little upset when she first told me this morning .
