i hate when bridesmaids say stupid things like....

'i hate traditional weddings, all i do is look at my watch all night hoping it will be over soon' and she knows we're having a pretty traditional wedding. I cant believe she said that.

Kinda wrong but just roll with it! It's your day! I, too, am having a traditional wedding and loving every second of it!!! Maybe she's just more 'outside of the box' than you...So be it.

I would tell her if it's a big inconvenience that she really doesn't have to be there but she needs to at least give you a heads up so you can stop counting her as a bridesmaid. Hopefully she didn't realize what she was saying . . . Or maybe she doesn't consider your wedding to be 'traditional'? That sounds like a REALLY stupid statement for her to make without backing it up somehow.
