Definitely not too forward...those who come to my home will see on my fridge (prominently displayed) my wish list for the holidays...i've been doing this for years...it works wonders

I agree!

They made us all make wish lists at work for 3 gifts that we want our Kris Kringles to get us...I wrote 'Homegirl is getting married and has nothing...needs an iron, toaster, vaccuum, microwave, luggage...'

Even if I wasn't saving for a wedding, cash is always better!! I totally understand!

my family makes me write a list. And I make them make one since they are impossible to shop for. And I make a list for certain people because otherwise I'm afraid of what I'd get!!

the secret santa did clues. and asked at the bottom what we wanted I am totally done with my shopping and just have her to shop for. I would like to get something she wants not something she will through out. Lets be honest everybody wants something or needs something so tell all. You never know

For years now the 'mystery' on what to get my family for the holidays has gone by the wayside.

My Dad will tell me and my brother specifically what he wants - he even circles it in an advertisement, or tells you exactly what store to go to buy him something! And trust me, you NEED to get him what he wants or else he'll be asking you to return it!

Our parents both know that we would appreciate gift cards or cash, but in lieu of that (since I feel that is a bit bold to ask for) we requested some broadway show tix since we'd never treat ourselves to that these days
