There is one person I work with. we are not close, but we came over to this company at the same time, and were both at our old company for 3 years.
So anyway, i had NO intentions of inviting her to my wedding. She keeps saying 'i cant wait for your wedding, im so excited blah blah blah'
so i went to CLM and i was showing my assistant the menu and everything and we were giggling and so happy, so she comes over and says shes loves the place.
so now i am looking at other places, and everyplace that i bring up in a conversation with my assistant, (keep in mind i am talking to my assistant, not to this crank b*tch) she has to but in!
'dont get married there, that places is ugly, that place doesnt thrill me, yada yada'
she wont butt out!!! she isnt even going to be invited!! And all she does all day is look at wedding stuff and send me pictures of wedding stuff.
How the heck do i get this witch off my back? i really cant stand her and i feel like i'm being sooo mean. I just hate it. I'm not talking to her, why cant she butt out?

Haha... I hear different opinions and people butting in on conversations they are not part of all the time. Only exception is that mine are from 13-14 year olds. I just tell them honestly, was I talking to you? Maybe you should use this blunt tactic! Shuts my kids up!

i feel so bad! shes like 50 and has a habit of this. and i feel so bad b/c i was NOT planning on inviting her to my weddding. and she acts like its HER wedding and its not!
but how do you say negative things about a places that i'm looking at. i could wind up getting married at one of these places, and shes going to feel like an ahole for bad mouthing it.

How can you feel so badly? Look at what you're saying... this lady sounds like a real jerk! You can tell her how you feel nicely... I probably wouldn't do it so nicely... but it can be done!

Maybe you should just be blunt with her...just say I appreciate you trying to help and give suggestions, but this is between my assistant and I. Or just not bring wedding stuff to work...I know that stinks because I know you are excited to show off what you are doing, but that may be easier...then if she keeps sending you wedding stuff just say I am no longer talking about the wedding during work because I don't want people think they are invited when I am only inviting close friends....

IMO I'd tell her that you appreciate that fact that she wants to give 'advice' (lol if you can call it that) but thank her and say you & FH really have things under control and you dont need any additional help.

i feel so bad. and so dont want to be confrontational. i sit in a cubical group of 4. w/ my assistant and 2 typists, who constantly ask me questions all day and shes one of them. the 4 of us are constantly fighting and me and FH are fighting so i so dont want to fight here too lol
