I hate working for the city schools

Even though I am making more money than I was at the preschool in LI I have missed two snow days already this year. The Dept.ofEd. never closes! I have no idea where I am going to park my car in South Ozone Park tomorrow.

I need to work in LI again....

Yes, that is the bane of my existence (one of them anyway!). I have to go to Lehman College to score the 8th Grade ELA, which is worse than going to my school- we have to park at the meters. At least alternate side is suspended- I am usually able to find a spot at my school.

I second that I HATE NYC SCHOOLS! I work in Brooklyn. The only good thing is that my FI also works in Brooklyn at another school and he is going to drive me.

I am hoping they will cancel PD...but I am sure they won't. NYC does not care about it's teachers...we are just babysitters IMO..and thats why they never close

you said it!!!! my mil works in the city too and she says that in over 20 years, she remembers them closing 2 times! think of all those storms!!!

On the Dept of Ed website, it says that all afterschool activites are cancelled. Do you think that means professional development too?

I think its quite ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am livid!!!!!!!!!

Channel 5 just said the bitter cold is the problem here. They said the roads will be awful and so many schools are closing. But of course...NOT US!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am livid!

I HATE working for NYC public schools too...I can't believe that the schools are open tomorrow!!! at least give us a freaking delayed opening!!

Many teachers and students will not be in.............I think Bloomberg is on a power trip and this shows that he has the power........Use your own decision to go in or not..........Do not risk your life............You are just a file number to the Doe and can be replaced..........

Can you tell that I have been working for them too long.................?

DH is not going in. he says and I quote. ' The kids will be in because they need there free breakfast and lunch' and the parents want the kids out of the house for the 6 hours.
