I'm glad it all got resolved, but I would think twice about someone who would do tis in the first place. Doing the right thing out of guilt is not the same thing as doing the right thing b/c it's what's in your heart.

why would you even say something like this to her? he made a mistake and realized it right away, and corrected it. To me that counts for ALOT! to question what's in his heart (when you have no clue as to whats there to begin with), is just presumptuous IMO...I don't think rachel needs to think twice about anything. thats my opinion.

I'm not trying to be rude, i'm trying to be realisitc. Rachel herself said 'his guilt got the best of him' I'm not saying there'a nything wrong with JT, I'm just saying don't let it go so easily. With so many people getting separated and divorced and anulled and everything, I think you shouldn't let even the smallest problems go. I do think the fact that he was doing it in the first place sends up a flag. It could be just that he wasn't thinking, and it that's probably what it is (I mean, come on...he's a guy), but I still think it's something you need to address when your FH would drop you when he hasn't seen you in weeks for someone else, no matter who it is. He needs to realize it's hurtful and not acceptable. That's JMO. Some people's opinion is 'oh it's so great he apologized' and it is great. But I'm just trying to help and say don't let the little things pass w.o talking them over because they can turn into big things.

Maybe I'm overly cautious, but that's jmo.


ETA: I don't think it's bad advice to tell someoen to take a step back and really think and talk when something happens that hurts them. it's a lot more constructive than playing games to 'nbust his chops' and 'makim squirm' and all of the 'revenge' advice given on this thread, and none of those people got jumped all over.

I'm not jumping all over you..I just was taken back by your response..I totally agree with some of the points you've just made. like you said, JT probably just wasn't thinking, he's a guy...they usually don't.... you just made it sound like it was such a serious infraction that she should 'think twice' about him..and i don't think that's where SHE was with this incident...you're advice was constructive, but I think in this case, it really doesn't apply. He made a mistake and corrected it by making an about face, and going back.

eta: NOW...had he kept going, went to lunch, and THEN returned, only to admit he was wrong, then I'd see how a long talk should take place..
