I mailed out my STD magnets sometime in March only to those people that we were planning to invite to the wedding. There was a little bit of an uncomfortable situation with FH best friend's mom who we're neighbors with and who thought was going to be invited to the wedding...we found out that she was kind of upset that she didnt get a STD. This was all going on behind our back, and now that we found out what happened, we feel bad and we decided to inviter her (we didnt know she would want to come so bad). So SHE IS GOING TO BE INVITED TO THE WEDDING.
Anyway, so my mom asked me to give her a list of people to invite to the shower and I want to include FH best friend's mom as well, but I dont want her to get the shower invite and be like 'What the heck? They invite me to the shower but not the wedding?'
WHAT DO I DO??????????

so she is invited to both then i would just let it go, if she's pissed then so be it, she has the option to say yes or no.

Re: I have a little dilemma...
You're inviting her to the wedding, and inviting her to the shower - you're fine, and have done a kind thing. She'll have to be patient like everyone else, and wait for the wedding invitation.
However, it's usually 'common knowledge' that one is invited to the wedding if they are invited to the shower.
Also, STD's are a 'new thing' and it's in the past, and there's nothing you can do to go back and change it. She should build her bridge - go over it, and be happy to be included in the wedding now.
Okay, so I might not have helped, but what you can do is call her personally and say 'We'd love for you to be a part of our special day and the shower, so please send me your mailing address b/c we need to give it to the calligrapher.' I know, you might already have her address, but there's no harm in 'double-checking.'

I dont know if I wasnt clear enough in my original post...we decided to invite her to the wedding, but she still thinks that she is not invited bc she did not receive the STD magnet... how do I approach the situation...should I have somebody tell her that we're inviting her?

Oh, and you were VERY clear in your original post, that you were inviting her to the wedding. I understood it, and I'm a moron...anyway...
that's a great idea - have her daughter in law casually mention it? 'Hope we get to sit together at Sylvia & Mike's wedding' - and that'll open up the convo.

Re: I have a little dilemma...
You're fine. When we sent the STDs we were unsire of certain people and they did not get STDs but since then we have decided to invite them to the wedding and they will be invited to my shower. No biggie. Like someone said, they can say no if they want but when they get a shower invite that should be an indicator to them that they will be invited to the wedding.

i didn't understand your original post, thats why i asked.
but if you are inviting her, send her one for the shower, thats fine. a std is not the invite, maybe you should have fh's mom explain that to her

Re: I have a little dilemma...
i would just invite her to the shower. getting invited to a shower is a clear indicator that you are invited to the wedding and your FH's friends mom will recognize that.
and she'll get over the STD thing....i wouldnt worry...

Re: I have a little dilemma...
You can try and play it off. If she says anything you can say that you did not mail out save the dates to everyone. You can say that you only mailed them to family and wedding party.
