I saw both Duet and Patken (I'm not going with either of them, but liked them both). The one thing that didn't impress me at Patken was the condition of the sample albums. The pictures were shifting around in them, and that made me worry about how well they were made. If you like those cool digital albums that are just printed on the page, that's not an issue. I'm more of a traditional gal myself; I like actual pictures affixed on the page or under mattes. Good luck!

we visited Patken in Febuary and all the albums were in good condition, better than Duet we felt, because at the time Duets we're in boxes.

We met with both as well, but we didn't book either, we went with another vendor. We preferred Duet over Patken, though.

Both photographers do a wonderful job. Although I believe Patken shoots color pics in film and Duet does it in digital. So whichever you prefer thats who you should go with. Both photographers have a talented team and shoot beautiful artistic and creative pictures!

So how did it go??? Im going tonight to Patken. I haven't gone to Duet because Patken's price was better than the one Duet is giving via email. How many extras did Duet throw in there? Just curious. Can anyone FM what they got either for Patken or from Duet before I commit?

I have to check my Duet paperwork and get back to you. It went really well, we met with Steve but we would still like to look at a few more photographers before we decide.... I'll try to FM you with prices tonight...

duet threw in a lot for us... and gave us a great price and i thought their work was great, literally brough tears to my eyes at one point

I was at Duet last night - I think that i am going to go with them - I have another apt tonight with Artisan and i met with proline last week -I just dont want to make the wrong decision on this one -

When I met with Patken, they refused to give me photos in sizes other than 8x8, 11x11, etc. -- pics you would have to have them or someone else professionally mount because you can't really find those frame sizes. Turned me off, to be honest. They do nice work, though.

I just booked Patken.. I too saw Patken and Duet (and three others)...
They both take great pictures. While Duet does give you more for your money...I felt that the quality of the actual photographs at Patken were better...whether it is the type of camera or the quality of the processing I dont know. So it is just which is more important to you.
Otherwise I dont think you could go wrong with either.
