I have a question about the ...

What is the way things are supposed to go once you and husband arrive at the RH?? Like as far as first dance then eat or toasting then eat then dancing then cake?? whats the order??

I am not sure how it is supposed to go since i am doing everything myself at the wedding..

Speak to your maitre d or your BM they are the ones that know the order.

Usually its
Your first dance...then dancing, first course, toast, dancing, dinner..cake cutting-parent dances....

If I remember correctly that is how it goes. i wouldnt worry about it, your Maitre D will tell direct you for these things

If you have been to a wedding that you think flowed very smoothly, you can base the 'order of events' on that. Most caterers and DJs/Bands will be flexible and will take your ideas into consideration.

I think the best flow is to have the DJ/Band play before your entrance (1 or 2 songs), then you enter and get introduced, and then they do the first dance. I have seen the parent dances come after the first dance, but I think it is better to do them later, after dinner to break things up a bit. It is usually best to do the speeches during dinner, while people are eating, if your caterer will let you, so you can get the most out of the DJ/Band.
