I have a very bad boo boo (sniffle)

So, it is about 1 and 1/2 months before my wedding, and being the stupid klutz that I am, naturally I hurt myself.

Yesterday, I was on my way to lunch with my work friends, wearing my cute new black pants and my favorite stilletos. The elevator I took only goes to the second floor of the courthouse and I decided to walk the last flight. So, as I am walking down, my heel got caught on my pant leg and I went down hard. There is a solid metal slab on the side of the staircase and my left knee slammed hard onto it. It hurt like a mofo, and being embarrassed, I tried to walk it off. It was very swollen, but I finished work and went to my hair trial (which was fun and I will post pics tomorrow in a separate post). So, it got progressively worse and the pain is terrible. I woke up 4am from the pain (which does not want to respond to any meds). I stopped by my primary care this morning, and at least it was not dislocated. I have to get it x-rayed tomorrow (after we get our marriage license ). They said it my kneecap was either bruised or possibly fractured ...hopefully not.

So, tonight (after finding a new house to rent ), my knee is so bad that I cannot move and nothing is helping. The pain is so bad that I am nauseas (pain meds and anti-inflammatories didn't help).

Anyone have any idea if this is bad or just a bruise?

I am such a dumba$$!!!

OMG I hope it's just a bruise, but by your description makes it seem like you might have cracked it! Feel better soon!

Oh you spaz...you're supposed to do stuff like this AFTER the wedding!!!! So sorry you fell...i feel your pain...as i am sitting here my knees are killing me from my TKD class tonite...i have loose kneecaps that create alot of pain from them 'rubbing' ...so i am hoping that you just bruised it??? Wait to see what the Xray tells you...for me nothing helps but icing them....good luck tomorrow!!

Oh and congrats on the new house!!!!! Are you still in HB...same area???

First Knee injurys hurt. They only way to tell whats wrong is an x-ray. Make sure you rest and try to stay off of it. Keep your leg elevated when home resting. Lots of pillows under it. Make sure you FH takes care of you.

So, went for the x-ray..waiting to hear back...I think I will find an orthopedist on Monday, as it hurts really bad...at least i filled out my workmen's comp stuff...ugh
