i have a work story too

I give J her gift for Christmas today. I left it on her desk. She comes to her desk, says oooh more gifts (someone came in 2 minutes before and gave us both gifts) and I say ya, from me. She doesnt say a word at all. She puts it on the desk behind her, never opens it, never says thank you, and says, you didnt have to get me something. I say, yes, I know and I know we dont usually exchange but I wanted to, its nothing big and please dont feel obligated to get me something, I dont expect anything. SHE LAUGHS! ummmmmmm...what does that mean.
We both left and she never said thank you and never opened it.
(btw, I should probably expect this- shes a very sweet, good person but is definitely weird and has offended people before cuz she doesn't value anything, she doesn't thank people, etc.)
(but more than not thanking me, what is the laugh about???) i took it as, 'i wasnt planning on getting you anything anyway' which even if thats the case and i honestly dont expect anything from her, isnt it rude to laugh???
what else could the freakin laugh mean??
eta: last year she wasnt my assistant, we were just co-workers so thats why i never had gotten her anything in the past.
