I take Claritin every day and it isnt helping. I may go today to get a salt water nasal solution...

FH suffers from allergies year-round, but this time of the year is particularly bad for him. He has a prescription for Singulair which he loves because unlike a lot of the other meds out there for allergies, it doesn't make him droswy nor does it make him feel jittery.

I've used Alavert (that's OTC) in the past and it doesn't make me sleepy or jittery either.

HTH! And feel better!!

i have year round allergies too.

i found a Netti Pot to work wonders although i find this hard to use haha. i use a saline nose spray every morning, sometimes even twice a day.

i never found Claritin to work but have found the original red small Sudafed pills work wonders (non drowsey), Advil Cold & Sinus (non drowsey) and Benadryl Sinus (which i barely can take b/c it knocks me out)

feel better!

I have year round allergies that are bad and my asthma combined makes it worse for me to breathe - My doctor prescribed me singular and allegra d 12hr. It helps so much! Also flonase, which is a nasal spray, but you could pick up an otc nasal spray.

Neti pot is a miracle - I highly recommend it!! I also take Zyrtec and use Nasonex. I have the worst allergies and I have been doing pretty good - whihc I really atribute to the Neti pot more than anything else.

Ask your allergist about Xyzal. It's 2nd generation of Zyrtec and it works wonders.
