I have an unnatural obsession.

I have an unnatural obsession.

With Forrest Gump.

I saw it in the movie theatre, the first (and last) time I ever went to the movies alone. Because no one wanted to go with me.

When it came out on video, I was living in Florida and a bored loser. So I would watch it over and over.

Then the special edition DVD came out and I got that too.

Now I've got my 13 year old nephew watching it and quoting the lines from the movie. I can recite the whole damn thing from memory, I'm sure.

Why Forrest? I have no idea. Maybe it's because I like saying things with an accent.

I totally need this hat. It's dar-dar.

I hear ya. Every time I hear a song from the soundtrack, I say 'Thats a Forrest song!'

And in this case, dar-dar must mean splendiferously green.

I love watching this movie - if not for the many history lessons, but for the sweet storyline that is occurring behind the scenes - I loved Sally Field's motherly character and Tom Hanks - well, he's just superb!

I love saying the line: 'LIfe is like a box of chocolates.......you never know what you're going to get.'

I generally don't like Sally Field but really liked her in that movie. I get teary at certain parts, like when all Jenny's letters come back. But I BAWL when his Mom dies and he said he bought her a new hat, when he realizes little Forrest is his son and says, 'But is he smart or is he...', and from the point that Jenny dies right up till the end.

I'm tearing now dammit. And I've seen this movie over a hundred times.
