I AM NEW TO THE SITE AND HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT I AM DOING ON HERE!!! I JUST RECENTY GOT ENGAGED IN JUNE. ONE OF MY DEAREST FRIENDS AS WELL JUST GOT ENGAGED AND SUGGESTED I JOIN. SHES MET SO MANY NICE PEOPLE AND SHE THOUGHT I SHOULD DO IT....SO HERE I AM. MY FIANCE AND I HAVE A LOT ON OUR PLATES AND ARE TRYING TO CUT WHERE EVER POSSIBLE ON THE COST OF OUR WEDDING. ITS TUFF....ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE NICE......

I just wanted to say congrats and welcome. I'm only in the beginning stages of planning myself, so at this point, I don't have any 'cutting corners' suggestions. But all of the brides on this site are super helpful! You've come to the right place!!

She's got it right!! I ended up with 3x the work because of this place!!! But I cut in other areas because of here too!

Hey Amanda! Congrats & WELCOME!! You will find TONS of ideas here, some times too many when you are trying to keep costs down! Lol
I am cutting in my flower department, I plan to make my centerpieces simple/non flowers…(something like candles and some rose petals scattered around). I also am cutting cost on invitations, I am picking up a few boxes from Michaels or Staples, you make them yourself and they can be found at less than $1 each! I say ‘hey, who cares, they will be in the garbage soon after’!

I suggest starting LOGICALLY
- Decide on a budget - Talk to FH about style/size of your wedding - start making a list of vendors your will want/need.
You can ask a lot of questions here. You can also do a search (reviews on specific vendors, a particular topic, etc.)
Take advise wisely. While some vendors will or will not work for a particular bride, that may not be the case for another bride.
But most of all... take a deep breath and be open minded.
