I could not find anything until Monday when I visited this after finding this review on New York Magazine:
Mrs. John L. Strong Fine Stationery 699 Madison Ave., near 62nd St. 212-838-3775 Chelsea Passage, Barneys New York, Madison Ave. at 61st St. 212-833-2060 The crème de la crème of invitations: Every card here is engraved with hand-cut steel dies ($2,500 for 100 invitations and reception cards with ivory tissue-lined inner envelopes). Barbara Hutton used this stuff for all five of her weddings.

Yes... we ended up just picking a plain one that also happens to be very inexpensive. Here is a pic.

Look at invitations by 'chase'...
thats the brand we went with... I liked a lot of thier samples...

That's sort of the problem-- I don't know.. I am thinking something plain yet elegant. Maybe something with ribbon on the front that opens the invite.

We couldn't find anything we liked. We went to Party City and looked in their books. We ordered them from Follow your Heart. Kathy is awesome. She did our calligraphy Ordered the Bridesmaid gifts and Favors from her also.

I know what you mean. Invitations were the most painful decision. FH and I disagreed for a long time on which one to get. We finally picked on and we are so happy with the choice. A little more than I wanted to spend bc I had to get over 300 invites but I love them. We have gotten so many complements on them since we sent them out last weekend.
Instead of the white ribbon, I used a burgandy organza ribbon trimmed in satin. I wanted to carry though our wedding colors.

Try www.mygatsby.com They had really cool invites. I ordered some samples from them and though they were reasonably priced. Check out their envelopements.

I found these 2- I actually ordered samples. The first is from Precious Collection The second is from Rexcraft Rexcarft has a nice selection..did you look there?

I looked AAAAAAAALOT, ordered magazines and still nothing. I went to a vendor here Simply Elegant (Gail) and she was wanderfull. It helped a lot to see and feel the samples. Some times you see one that you like but the paper is bad .......

It took me forever to find invites I like...I must have ordered 25 samples from different places. I would up with invites from Encore. They pic doesn't do them justice...so I won't post it

Check out this link: Claudia Hanlin The wedding library is a resource place for all wedding related stuff. I had the same probelm when looking for invitations. But these links gave me a better idea of what I wanted. I personally love letterpress (I recommend Julie Holcomb, her work is amazing). I didn't use any of these designs only because they were out of my price range. I ended up using a Canadian company. Marsville letterpress. I loved her work. julz are they rex craft they look just like mine. i had snowflakes put on the top though and had a silver tassle. i loved them there elegant
