I havent started to look for a dress...

I was thinking of September? Is that too late?

I was told to order no less than 8 months before the wedding.maybe you should start a little sooner..especially if people are going with you and schedules may need to be coordinated

September is not to late... but just keep in mind that some dresses take longer than others to get ordered and then you want time for alterations.... dress shopping is so much fun...

I don't think u should wait that long...some dresses take 6-8 months to come in...and u want at least a month of fittings worth....keep all that in mind...
I just don't want u to go in September fall in love with a dress and then they tell you u dont have enough time for this dress to come in....

If you have an idea of a dress it might not be a bad idea to start in September. IF you have NO idea then you might want to start earlier because you might have trouble finding one you like. I went a year before but that's just because I couldn't wait!!!

I think September is fine, but some people have a more difficult time finding THE ONE than others. I would start over the summer just to play it safe. I ordered by dress in January for my October wedding. They said it would come in late July early August, and they called yesterday to tell me it was in.

I started 9 months early & ordered at 8 months.

My dress took about 4 motnths- i've heard 4-6 for most , but some can take longer.

i would start early this way ou do not feel pressured to by the sales people to buy right away - i am picky so it is taking me a while and they keep telling me to order soon and I am not until next august - but i know i have time - also it is a good idea to go by yourself a few times to figure out what you like - this way when yo go with others ou are not wasting a lot of their time

I'm getting married April 3rd and I only just started looking this month. Eight months prior to June 12th is October 12th - that gives you almost 2 months to find something starting in September. Personally, I think that's fine unless you're extremely picky. And, since you're obviously not that concerned, you're probably not. Go when you're comfortable. I've had people screaming at me for months to go, but I just wasn't into it then. Besides, 8 months is giving you a VERY large amount of time.

One of my friends got engaged feb 13th and is getting married oct 3rd. that's only 7 1/2 mos from the date of her engagement. I think she ordered early march and there's no problem with getting the dress in on time. Don't sweat it.

Thanks girls! To be honest, I'm not looking forward to looking for a dress... I've gained weight, and I hate my body!! I'm trying to lose some weight! My cousin is coming in from Kansas in late July and hopefully my best friend from Florida, so maybe I'll start to take a few looks then.
