Hi Ladies,

I have posted this on TTC - but I hope you don't mind I thought I would post it here as well.

I have only been married about a month - but my Husband and I have been talking a lot about when we want to have children. I am not sure I am ready quite yet, but I have been thinking about it a lot. (I don't want to post our ideal timing just yet since I do have some family and friends on the board that I would love to surprise one day!)

How did you know when you were ready? What do you feel like or think about - what changes did you make ahead of time to prepare your body? This and any other advice would be really helpful.

This is such a common question but it never has any REAL answers. Its all a personal decision. Are you ready to give up your alone time? Are you ready for your life to NEVER be the same again? Are you ready to take complete responsibility for the health and well being of another helpless person? Even when you get pregnant and are in the delivery room you will probably still have doubt that you are ready. When they give you a baby to take home after 3 days in the hospital its all final. You cant change your mind... but being a mother to me has been the most amazing, rewarding, at times nerve wracking experience Ive ever experienced. I feel, for me and DH, we were ready to have a baby and develop a bond that will never be broken.

Oh and what I did before becoming pregnant... NOTHING DIFFERENT! I already knew about conception and how it happens etc. I knew about my cycles and I live a pretty healthy life so we just had sex and out come 2 babies.

Good luck with what you decide. If you are having doubts then maybe you should wait a while longer or if you think you are ready... go for it!
