I just ate brunch next to an american idol contestant...but who?

can anyone help me figure out who this kid is?

When he came in...John joked and said...'Simon LeBon is here' and laughed b/c we were eating in a diner...and this guy came in all dolled up...this the messed up hair look, etc...

then our waitress was talking to his girlfriend and her mother (who she knew) and then asked about this guy 'Alex'

he said he grew up on the East Coast and was a singer...


then the people on the other side recognized him from American Idol (I think)...they were talking about the World Idol championship (which I missed)...they told him they thought he had a lot of promise...when they left he said 'that hasn't happened in a long time'


I did a search on google...but came up with nothing...and I watched both american idols...and he doesn't look familiar...

thats the only name I found...but this kid was American...and said he was raised on the East Coast...unless he also knew German?

that is so funny. i work at MTV and saw clay aiken the other day. i didn't know who he was (even though he had a huge posse with him), am so clueless at recognizing people.

He's probably from World Idol, which was on last night. It's on again next Thursday night...maybe you'll see him then.
