I Just Can't Do This Again

I Just Can't Do This Again

I will be a bride in May 2005. I am a plus size. You would think that I'd be dieting and working out like crazy, but the truth is, I just can't do it again. I have lost weight and gained it back so many times that I am just tired of the process. I know all the 'this is a lifetime commitment' answers I will get, and I've heard them all before. I've got to have some new and lasting motivation or it's just not going to happen. Anybody else feel remotely the same?

I think a lot of us feel this way, its very hard to get motivated. I used to have such great self control when I was younger, now when I need it - I just don't have it!!!
I just try to watch what I eat - and I know you've heard this before - but exercise is necessary! I hate it - but I get my butt on the treadmill just about every day and run 4 miles.
But I do totally understand how your feeling. You should check out rachel's post - you'll see alot of us feel the same way as you!

I can definately relate to you. Since the wedding a hve gained inches. I hate getting dressed in the morning b/c my clothes don't fit right and I hate passing a mirror. At the same time I am so sick of watching everything I eat, especially when I see no results. I feel like I have given up. But at the same time I don't want all the weight I lost to come back.

Re: I Just Can't Do This Again

I tried to lose weight for my wedding but only managed to take off 20 pounds and tone up a little. It is a very stressful time and I am one whose eating is triggered by emotion.

My wedding dress was an 18W but I still loved it and I still felt beautiful that day.

I won't lie though. I do wish I had lost weight and I am worried about hating my pictures and video. My weight also bothered me a lot on my HM. I just wanted to be smaller and feel better in a bathing soon and to have been in better physical shape to do more things.

My plan is to work on losing weight and once I am a 'normal size' DH and I will take a second HM and renew our vows as slimmer trimmer people. This is battle we are both going to work on together.

Just do the best you can and just try not to diet. Just do whatever you can each day to try to be healthy and exercise. The exercise gives more results in your body shape.

Good Luck. Remember you will be a beautiful bride no matter what size you are and your FH loves you for you and that's all that matters.

Edited: I sounded too preachy - espeically since I don't follow what I preach.

I know how you feel. Just know that no matter if you lose or not your DH will love you jsut the same
And so will we!

No problem, believe me I understand how you feel 100%.
It sucks being 'labeled' but trust me you won't think about it one bit on your wedding day.

It sounds like you need some support; someone to keep track of your diet and someone to exercise with you. Can you find a workout buddy? (If you do find one, make sure they're really into working out; you don't want a workout buddy who's got no willpower!) Or can you afford a nutritionist to at least get you started with the proper diet? Join Weight Watchers?
Losing weight takes a LOT of work, but you should see this as a challenge; one that you can certainly conquer if you want to badly enough. It's really all about mind over matter.
Good luck!

Thanks! That may be what I need. Someone to do this WITH me. And someone who's really serious. I have a negative association with weight watchers (was put on it early in life) though I know it works. I was thinking about joining Curves and modifying my diet on my own. The thing is, I don't have room in the budget for one more thing since it's mostly me and FH paying for the wedding. I've gotta push past this. Where there's a will, there's a way!! If there are any plus size future brides out there that are determined to whip this and be the most beautiful woman (and bride!) they can be, let's unite and go for it!!!
