I just don't feel engaged anymore....

I just don't feel engaged anymore....

So i just finished working 6 days straight this week....a lovely 72 hour work week. So i basically went to work, came home, threw food in my face and went to bed, then repeated. So in addition to not wearing my ring for almost a week (its back on my finger now), i havent done a THING for planning. I was so excited when i got engaged and now i feel like the lost steam....only 2 months in! This coming month is pretty bad as well, i'm on 24hour call every 4th day and 3 outta the 4 weekends are booked with work so i'm not going to get to go see RHs....its very depressing!

I made my wedding date far away because i knew i would have limited amount of time to plan the wedding, but now i just can't help but be depressed a bit that i'm seeing one RH a month...

Anyone have a similar problem?

youre planning to get married in 2013 ... you have PLENTY of time! to be honest you shouldnt rush to book vendors right now. taste changes, new things come out etc. the venue is the most important so seeing one a time gives you the option of really thinking it through. there may be one you go to and just know! dont be depressed. i was CRAZED when i first got engaged, then slowed down a lot. enjoy it!

I'd say slow down. Don't put so much pressure on yourself this early. Enjoy your engagement. You have 3 years to get caught up in the wedding whirlwind. You shouldn't be feeling this way 2 months in. Love the engagement. Take care of the other things going on in your life like work. You have so much time to stress in a year or year and a half

Good luck and relax!

Awww I'm sorry you feel like that. You have a lot going on right now with your career. You have plenty of time to plan your wedding don't get stressed or upset about not being able to book things quickly that's why you chose to have a long engagement.

ITA. I would wait and do my research leisurely. Don't make it a chore!

When we first got engaged it was the day before Thanksgiving. We agreed not to start planning until the new year so we just got to enjoy being engaged for awhile and enjoy the holidays! We planned the wedding in 13 months then since we really didn't get going until February. We took plenty of time booking each vendor- one every month or two and it worked out just fine! And with so much time, you definitely need to slow down so you don't get burnt out like this! Don't worry, just take it slow!

ETA: Maybe you should even consider hiring a wedding planner! Someone who will do the research and the footwork for you and then come to you to make a decision.

Don't put so much pressure on yourself. You have so much time and honestly even with only a year and a half to plan I have changes my mind about so many things including vendors. I say hang out on the boards a little and get advice on halls/vendors and then early next year start booking things. There are so many vendors I wish I had known about when I first started looking that I later found out about from other girls.

FH works a full-time & part-time job Mon-Sat. I work a full-time & part-time job Mon-Sat & go to school 3 days a week.

I barely have time for anything myself. But when I do get a night or weekend free it's totally dedicated to wedding planning. That's why we booked 2012, also because we're paying for everything.

Good Luck & calm down...it will all come together in the end

ITA with the other posters. 2013 is far away enough in advance that you really can just see one every once in a while. Enjoy the engagement. Get a binder and begin to think about who will be in your BP, who you will invite, get those numbers together. There's plenty to think about and begin keeping notes on, like which vendors you may be considering, HM thoughts, etc. Just don't put any pressure on yourself this early to get anything major done!

Don't rush it. You have 3+ years to plan stuff. Enjoy your enagement and when you get a free minute here and there start researching, and then make appointments. I know people who plan weddings in under 6 months. Relax, you will be fine!!!!

ITA with all the posts as well. You have over 3 years to plan. we got engaged on christmas and havent started planning until two weeks ago. We each work a full ad part time job and i go to grad school.
We are trying to make it all fit in by next july.
If you have the time, take it, enjoy it, enjoy the engagement and most of all enjoy each other and everything else will fall into place.

in my opinion, i wouldn't book anything yet! its way to early and so many new and better things crop up over time. schedule what you can and keep track of what you like and dislike, it will help you to make a decision later on

2013 ! you have 3 years :).

Just enjoy being engaged and worry about planning a year before.

I planned in 10 months and my sister is planning in 4. It will all be okay !
