I just DON'T UNDERSTAND.. Please help me understand..

Okay ladies..

Why is it that I see soo many women, looking cute in their business outfits, and their heels, with HUGE backpacks or like 2-3 dif bags and what REALLY bugs me is why must you have like 29384203948 dif bags and then on top of all those bags you are schlepping around, you have a little LV, Dior, Gucci, pouchette that you insist on carrying on your shoulder? WHYYYYYYYYYYY!! I don't understand.. why not just throw that stupid bag in with the big one?

I DON'T GET IT.. YOu look like an a$$hole!

Sorry no explanation because I don't get it either.

I also love when those 'bags' take a seat on a crowded bus or train and the owner makes a face when you say 'Excuse me, I'm going to sit there'.

there is a lady here where I work and she is in customer service (and they dont have assigned seats ) and she must bring in 4 friggin bags EVERYDAY... and one pocketbook,.. the worst part is she covers for the reception desk, so she shlepts these bags back and forth all day long..

I just want to ask her WHAT THE HELL IS SHE BRINGING HERE EVERYDAY?????????????

I might be guilty of this, but with good reason!!!!I bring a gym bag (backpack) with me to work everyday, but after my gym clothes, sneakers, lunch, current book etc....there is no room for my purse (which is also sizeable)

No to mention if I stop for a coffee or muffin, I don't want to have to take off my backpack to get to my purse, to get to my wallet, to get to my money etc.....

I take a train and 2 subways to get to my office....convenience is key and for me, using my backpack and a purse does it!

I know I don't look *fashionable* but I have tried other options, and unfortunately, this works best for me.....trust me though....I know it doesn't look good! lol!!!!!

ps - I have no choice but to work out straight from work, so I have to bring the 'bag' everyday!

Edited to add - but I only carry 2, not 4 or 5!!! I promise....

What I meant was why carry a large ass bag or like 3 and then a little ass designer pochette? that's what I don't get? Who gives a fudge that you have a LV bag or even better a FAKE one!lol

makes no sense. only reason i can come up with is they have things they want easy access to in the little bag (keys, makeup, ciggs,) or they need to show the world they have a gucci pochette!

I think my purse is probably half the size of my gym bag....lol!!!! I carry alot of crap!!

But I do know what you are talking about.....they feel the need to show SOMETHING with that daMn designer label.....WHO CARES WHAT BAG YOU ARE CARRYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they just like to show off.. that's my opinion.

I carry my black Mazda Backpack and a tote bag. Like Sage, I have to carry lots of stuff. I take a train and 2 subways as well.

I keep my book, pillow (makeshift), headsets, gym clothes, umbrella and hat in the tote.

My backpack has personal stuff. Wallet, phone, medications, purse and such... I am terrified someone will steal stuff so I like having my important stuff squarely on both shoulders. To get to my purse you have to open two zippers, move past a hair brush and makeup bag to get to it. Not easy.

I was in our office restroom when the girls were talking about designer bags. Dooney & Bourke bags were talked about I said 'I have one' when I pulled it out the girls were shocked.

'Why by a $300 purse if you're going to hide it?' I never really thought of it that way. I take it and about with me on office meetings and such, but *I* don't see the need to have it flashing about on the way to and from work when I can stuff it in the backpack.

Marcella, I have being wondering about it myself...

I guess they just want to world to know that they have their little prada/gucci/lv bag...

I also don’t get the logic behind it! The more bags you have on you, the more chances of loosing one of them or leaving it behind on the subway! Keep your stuff in one place! But, hey, that's just me...

Wait, may be it's because they can't afford to by a gib designer bag, so they buy a really small one, but the still need a place to put all their stuff in, so they have to get a few more cheap bags !

I carry my gym bag, my pocket book, no name brand pouchette here and sometimes my lunch bag or my bag with my mags, papers etc. I saw a lady with 2 pocketbooks yesterday, 1 brown, 1 black exact same size

These women go out to lunch, but only with little bags, hence the little bag use. And they want to maintaing the Gucci prestige when with their coworkers.

I carry 2 bags....a Nine West brief-case-like bag (big enough to fit a notebook, my lunch and a few additional items) and my purse. I'm ashamed to admit that there are days that I need to change at work to go to my PT job and I'm carrying in an additional bag with my change of clothes and I feel like a complete moron!! Sometimes I'll leave the 'change of clothes bag' in the car and bring that one in solo when I come in from lunch....

I don't understand the many bags. If it were up to me, I would throw all the bags into one for easier carrying. And I think people just wan to show they are carrying the little desginer handbag.

I am not with the times. I still carry my non-designer handbags that I can fit all my needs in.

I keep it down to 2 - I have my knapsack filled with school books, papers, digi camera, all my meds - then I have my purse, with my wallet in it, license, lipsticks, gloss, etc.........

None are prada or fendi or whatever

HeHe--I'm guilty--BUT I just got rid of all my bags and bought an x-large Gucci tote that fits everything including my laptop--

Is that show-offy? I just liked the bag not b/c it was Gucci but b/c it was so big!
