I just found out.......

that I have to have knee surgery. I am trying to schedule it asap because I am afraid if I wait, then I may not be properly heeled by the summer. I hope it will be a short recovery period. What bad timing!

I too had arthroscopic 5 years ago.I was told I would be on crutches for a week. Well then it turned out that the x-rays and MRI didn't show everything. A week after the surgery, when I went back to the doctor, he said that it was much worse then he thought and I wound up on crutches for 3 months!!!!! I have arthritis and all this cartilage lost and the doctor said its only going to get worse over time and that he doesn't want me to suffer.

This surgery is similar to arthroscopic he says but more involved. I am a bit nervous because last time I was suppose to be fine in a week, and it took 3 months. Now I am not sure if this will be a week thing or maybe I will have another 'extreme case'. He's going to meet with me next week to discuss it in detail in person.

I was told the same and I never had the surgery & I am fine. Get a 2nd opinion.

SORRY TO HEAR THAT - BUT MAYBE THIS WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER - FH JUST HAD HIS DONE AND WAS BACK TO WORK IN LESS THAN 2-WEEKS.... HE FEELS GREAT NOW...
