I just found out

my best friend has Lupus. She is so upset that she cant even talk. I want to do something for her but I dont know what.

I know the LIW prayers will help- can I ask for some prayers for her to help her though this.

Is there anything for your wedding you can giver her to do to preoccupy her time? My sister is going through severe depression, and I gave her so many tasks that she is starting to feel better.

Or, maybe a spa day? Favorite Play? Take her to a movie?

Thats a good idea I was thinking of doing a mani pedi and lunch day with her.

there's not much you can do, unfortunately .... just be there for her. Maybe you can make a donation to the lupus foundation in her name?

my mom was diagnosed with lupus about 15 years ago, and 3 of her cousins have it too. its a tough disease but also works in cycles so she will have times when she feels totally normal and fine and times when she feels really bad. the best thing to do IMO is offer your support and in the bad periods be there to help with basic things- errands, appointments, even just hanging out and keeping company. my thoughts are definitely with you and your friend as she comes to terms with her diagnosis.

Lots of people live completely normal everyday lives with Lupus. I hope she will be one of them.

Awwww Celia I'm so sorry. She'll be in my prayers

I'm so sorry, Celia. It's a blessing that she was diagnosed though...a lot of people deal with years and years of doctors visits before they get diagnosed with Lupus. Now she'll be able to start a regimen to keep it under control and help with the pain management.

Maybe you could send her a basket or some flowers to cheer up...it lets her know you are thinking of her while still giving her space
