I just got layed off!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm sorry to hear about your layoff. I was let go last month and currently am collecting unemployment. my wedding is 5 months away and i freaked ou as well. But let me tell you , it was the best thing that could have happened to me. I'm less stressed, got things taken care of for the wedding and am relaxing for the first time in years. Collect the checks, take a break for a little while and relax.

I'm so sorry to here that, most companys will understand a prior planned vacation/wedding and will still allow you the time off as long as you tell them prior to being hired.

Thanks everyone i woke up feeling better......i realized i can get alot done now and i wont be spending $200 a month on gas to and from my job!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry . When applying for another job just let them know ahead of time about the days that you need off, and they should be ok with it. You may not get paid for it (you probably won't have vacation time), but that should not affect if you get hired or not. Keep your head up and stay positive!!! Everything will be ok.

I'm soooo sorry!!!! Def go down to the unemployment office...They are really helpful, and at least you will have a check coming every week. I did this when I got laid off from my job a few years ago, It def saved me a lot of stress. Update your resume and get it out ASAP. I'm sure employers will understand your situation with needing to take off for the HM and the wedding.

So sorry. You can apply for unemployment directly over the internet. Don't have any qualms about it, this is what it's for -- and you'll find something right away, just start looking and the right thing will come along.

Very good advice! Collect unemployment and just relax, plan the wedding and look for another job in the meantime...

OMG!!!! I am so sorry, I know this couldn't have come at a worse time. Most companies won't mind that you need the time off for your wedding, as long as you tell them during the interview process. If they can't handle it, then that is their problem.
