I just got offered a job

At Cold Spring Harbor's DNA labs. I can't believe it! Now I am stuck between the lab I am working at now that wants to keep me FT and CSH!! Things are happening so fast!!

Congrats!! I have a good friend who works there. He says it's a little too science intensive (he feels like people don't take the time to socialize). But what a beautiful place to do science in!

Right now the area that I will be working in is Advanced Research in bacterial plasmids. The also mentioned teaching an accelerated Laboratory class.

Do you like it better in the lab? I work in a lab also but it is R&D for skincare products... more of a chemistry type thing. I would like to be a teacher someday though, just not right now.
Where is the other lab you work at?

I love lab work! I have been published twice so far and I want to publish more! I enjoy the High school teaching atmosphere but I eventually want to get my Ph.D and teach college. Both of the labs have Ph.D reimbursment.

Right Now I work at The Neuroscience Research Institute.

FH could teach you more than you ever wanted to know about bacterial plasmids! (We are both bacteriologists.)

It sounds like this job combines both research and teaching, which might be perfect for you.

No I am only 22. I am graduating with my BS in Biology and minor in Secondary ed next sunday!

And Cold Spring Harbor is very well known for DNA research. I think you should definately do it. Espeically if there is a chance you can get to teach also.

Wow.. that's amazing.. my brother is in medical school in NYC and when he just recently got married a lot of his medical school friends were excited to know that the reception was close to the lab
