I just had a good audition!!!!
Original post by heidla
I went to an audition today for Papermill Playhouse in NJ. It is a really great regional theatre. They are doing ' The Baker's Wife' by Stephen Swartz ( same guy who wrote Wicked) and 'Ragtime' by Flatherty and Ahrens ( Suesscical the Musical). I went in and sang 'Unusual Way' (Nine) . I was doing a shortened cut because they were stressing brief songs. Well, where I cut off was the end of a phrase, but not the end of the song, and 2 of the 3 people behind the table said 'No, keep going.' It kinda took me by surprise, but I just took a breath and got back into the emotional moment and continued. I finished and they all commented on how beautiful it was ( it is a really beautiful song), even the piano player. So, now I play the waiting game to see if I get a callback. I need to get a show. I am so unhappy bartending right now!!! Please keep your fingers crossed!!!
