My students amaze me everyday, but sometimes they just blow me away!!!
I asked them to write letters to the troops over Thanksgiving and I just had to share one, they are ALL wonderful but sometimes it amazes me the things that they say at their age!! (I am including all spelling and grammar mistakes too- so it is not me)
Dear Soldier,
I give you great thanks for going away and protecting our country. I wouldn't know but, it must be hard to be gone away from your family for so long. Don't worry though because your family and friends are waiting for you and they love you very much! I'm hopeing this letter will make you feel better. The teachers are sending you troops some stuff to make your lifestyle better. Have a great Thanksgiving and your days where you are very happy.
Yours truely,
X

Dear Soldiers,
My name is X. I am writing this letter to you to show my appreciation and gratitude for the toughtest job you can ever take on.
You probably feel very scared and loney but I want you to know that , we back home, support our troops. I feel proud and sad because you are protecting our country and risking your lives. Thank you for making us feel safe and protected. Thank you for protecting our freedom. I wish you a safe and fast return home so you can reunite with your family and loved ones.
by the way if you saw the Marine pictured in Suffolk Life on vets day, that was my baby trying to look tough! lol!! there are letters or portions of letters in that article too from a class in WIslip, very touching, kids are awesome~
