I just joined the Weight Watcher's Online program. I'm soooo overwelmed right now. I chose the Flex Plan. Can anyone give me pointers on getting started?? Also I would really appreciate it if anyone can give my sample weekly menus, like examples of what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thanks!!!

Re: I just joined Weight Watcher's
good luck with it... It is the best diet I have ever done... in the first two weeks I lost 10 lbs, and didnt even try!
Just make sure you do the little things that they suggest, like drinking water, and making sure you have your 2 tsp serving of oil, etc. thats what really clenses your body out and makes you loose the weight faster!
there are so many great recipes just on the website alone that you can make a whole book out of them.. I actually did ! ( I made for my mom for xmas this year!)
GOOD LUCK!

Re: I just joined Weight Watcher's
Hey i've been doing weight watcher's since march of 06 and i've been very successful. Ideally i'd like to lose another 30-35 lbs by my wedding in june. The best advice i can give you is to stick with it. Follow the plan and there is no need to 'cheat'. Don't cheat yourself by saying 'it's only a quarter of a cup when you know it is a half of cup.' Invest in a digital scale. It was the best thing i purchased. A sample menu for me during the work week is: 2-3 pts for breakfast usually a non fat yogurt or egg whites on a weight watchers bagel. lunch usually consists of 6 pts for me. I like oatmeal or a lean cuisine or lean pocket or a turkey/ham sandwich for lunch. around 4 o'clock i have a 'snack' for about 3 pts which is either 94% fat free popcorn, soup, celery/apple and peanut butter, etc. Then dinner which is usally my biggest meal is about 10 pts which includes mainly veggies, lean protein and some form of starch. Luckily on ww you can eat anything from chinese food to pizza to greek food. It's great. Then after the gym i have something light for 2 points such as celery and peanut butter. I try to space my meals out every 3-4 hrs. Eat smaller meals more often and DRINK YOUR WATER!!! It keeps you full. Sorry this post is so long if you have any questions FM me....keep me updated!!

Thanks!!! They only gave me 20 points a day. I just added my points for my day so far. All I had was 4 glasses of Pepsi (I'm a soda addict) and already over half my daily points are gone and I haven't even ate anything Ughhhhh!!! I guess I have to give up my soda addiction

Not to sound silly but how do you have your oil servings??? Do you just swallow a tsp of do you use it in your cooking??
This is going to be so hard because I'm a flight attendant and I'm always trapped on a plane or eating out

oh no! you have to give up the soda. stop buying it (haha easier said than done, right?). can you switch over to diet soda? otherwise, maybe treat yourself to 1 glass per day.

I do weight watchers and I love the laughing cow cheeses. They taste just like cream cheese and are only 1 point. I put them on english muffins, bagels, and wasa crackers. Its a great breakfast!

Don't worry - you can do this even if you eat out a lot. For oil - cook using olive oil and you'll take care of it. Definitely don't swallow it The trick is eating things that will keep you full. That usually means a lot of fiber and protein. A giant salad will keep you fuller than a cookie. I like WW breads, laughing cow cheese, and egg whites for a good weekend egg sandwich breakfast. Ordinarily I'll eat oatmeal or shredded wheat at work and I'll try to wait a bit to eat it so I'm not starving all morning. I eat frozen WW or lean cuisines or soup for lunch at work, and eat a lot of baby carrots, apples, etc for snacks. For dinner I eat a lot of fish, chicken, etc, with veggies or whole wheat pasta. FF pudding is a good dessert option, as are some of the WW desserts but they can get expensive. Good luck!

I know what you mean, I work in the restaurant industry and am around food all the time!
just try to give up the soda! that is #1.. i was a huge soda addict ( but my vice was diet) I loved also the flavored seltzers, the carbonation filled me up and i was stilldrinking my water.
when you go out tell them you want sauce on side, for everything! thats where they kill you, willall the sodium fat filled additions

I don't do WW...yet...but as far as any diet i would say take away the temtation....don't keep it in the house. I love soda too but I don't buy it so i am forced to drink water...I also have become addicted to lemon seltzer which gives me the bubbles and taste like a soda but no sodium or calories....same thing with snacks i can't keep them in the house or i eat them....so I don't buy them...it works for me!

Re: I just joined Weight Watcher's
The best thing that I did when I went on WW was to change the breakfasts that I eat. I used to have something small or nothing at all and then I would want to eat a house for lunch. Now I have a 3 point egg sandwich and that fills me up until lunch. All you need is 1/2 cup Better N Eggs or Egg Beaters, 1 slice of fat-free cheese and a 100 calorie english muffin. These things are so good and they really help me start the morning right.
Here are some of the things that I snack on normally: 1 pt: yogurt (WW brand or Lite and Fit) 1 pt: Rice Cakes 1 pt: 60 calorie pudding snacks pea pods and carrots with the dressing spray or fat-free dressing
It really is a lifestyle change. I also save all of my extra points for the weekends so I can still go out to dinner or drinking with friends.
Good luck!!

I usually have cereal and skim milk for breakfast- 3 points Then 3 hours later McDonalds yogurt parfait-3 points Then a Smart Ones lunch~6 points then 3 hours later-100 calorie snack Then 3 hour later another frozen dinner-6 points
Enjoy... it's a great way of eating, and the diet really works but, you have to have patience

Re: I just joined Weight Watcher's
I am doing W.W. on my own right now.. following the book......
and this is a typical day
A.M. Oatmeal (IF you bring your point finder to the store.. you will find a few brands that are 2 pts and some that are 3 pts.. I stick with the 2 pt kind..
and if I am really hungry on a particular morning.. I will eat a a Whole Wheat LIGHT english muffin that comes out to 1pt..
3pts total for breakfast.
I bring a morning snack to work... which will be either a piece of fruit or a 1 pt W.W. carrot cake bar (they are really small but they hit the spot for me)
Lunch is 2 ounces of turkey on light whole wheat with mustard... If I want a snack with my lunch it's grapes, apple, 100 cal pack, i also found some great fat free pringles that i use..
and then dinner.. i eat whatever my family is eating (asim living at home) but i just portion control it... Meat, Potato or BROWN rice, and a salad..

Re: I just joined Weight Watcher's
If you eat out alot, go to this great web site www.dwlz.com
She calculated the points of alot of the major food chains so it make it alot easier. I know that all the points calculations are not exact, but at least you have an idea of about how many points a certain dish is. For example I was shocked to see the salads at Friendlys was so high! I pretty much stopped eating them since I discovered how high their point count was
My trick was that i never used my extra 35 points. I would just go by DWLZ points calculations when I ate out and i just figured that if the meal was off a point or two, I was still good.
I lost 20lbs a little over two years ago. I gained about 7 of it back and I am going to start my WW up again come January.
