A few days before my mom was going to write out my invites (she does caligraphy), my grandpa went into the hospital for a little while. He's fine now thank god, but we didn't have time to write out the invites as expected and my handwriting is the worst ever, really. So we printed out clear labels and mailed them out that way. I come to find out from one of my BM's that guests are questioning the formality of my wedding because the invite itself was formal, but the way they were addressed was not!!!! Can I help it if certain things happen in the midst of everything? Things like life... I know its ridiculous to let something like this bother me, but no one understands and I just wanted everything to be absolutely perfect......

They will get over it! If the invite itself was formal, then your guests should have the common sense to know the formality of the wedding. If you are really uneasy about this, let your bridesmaids spread the word when your guests confront them with these questions.

Although I know it is very hard to do, I wouldn't let it bother you so much!!!! They probably asked your BM because they knew of the issues with your grandpa and didn't want to bother you. They probably wanted to know the formality so they could plan on their attire for the evening. I hope that this is the case and that you don't need to worry yourself about something so silly when you have so much more important stuff to deal with!

oh gosh, im so sorry!!! trust me..i doubt the majority of pple would question the formality of ur wedding just cause u typed the addresses on a clear label, i swear some pple need to be so dam picky its not even funny, dont stress it sweetie tons of pple use clear labels!!! The only thing I care about the envelope is that my name was spelt right, I don't care about labels

Unfortunatly, not too many peple knew about granpa. Who would think people who are invited to your wedding would need an explanation for such a thing, ya know? Anyway, I'll have my BM's spread the word....thanks for replying

sorry to hear about your grandfather getting sick, but glad he's ok now.
don't let the fact that some people are anal-retentive bother you! labels don't make the wedding any less formal and imo, written calligraphy doesn't make your wedding any more formal either.

Wow and I thought since it's a holiday weekend, I was sending them late!! I guess maybe we didnt need to rush after all. Oh well, better early than late, right? Either way those people out there who question my invites are just being petty....
