I dont pay rent but I can give you an idea of what some of my friends pay
Private house in Lindenhurst, LARGE 1 bd, 1 bt, $1000 (I think that includes most utilities)
Avalon Commons in Smithtown (includes a pool, clubhouse, fitness area, bbq area, all apts have a fireplace and washer & dryer in teh unit) 2bd 2 bth $1845 1 bd, 1bt with loft $1820 (beautiful complex but $$$$$)
Fairfield Complex in Happauge 1bd 1bt $1400 + parking (Not really a nice complex, he just moved to the above because the complex wasnt as nice as it used to be)
Private house in Deer Park 2 bd 1 bth $1000 (HUGE but its in her inlaws home so she gets a break)
