I just ordered

my FH's and MIL's cakes for their b-days next Saturday from the CupCake Cafe in the city....I'm so excited! I've heard such wonderful things about their cakes. But they are a little on the pricey side. I got a 12inch round cake for FH and it cost $100!! But he is so worth it! I'll def. take pics and post next week!

For my MIL I ordered vanilla buttercream (outside) with chocolate cake and strawberry filling inside (cause she loves strawberries and chocolate)

For FH, I ordered vanilla buttercream (oustide) with vanilla cake and raspberry filling. FH doesn't like chocolate.

I ordered a 12inch for FH because I am going to surprise him at work with it. He is working all day next Saturday so I am going to bring it to his work, and that way he'll have enough to treat the entire staff. I can't wait to see the look on his face!!

I'm so excited that I can't wait to see what the cakes will look like.

The raspberry filling tastes good- the put a thin layer so it doesnt overbear the rest of the cake.

What did you ask to be on your FMIL cake??

They are both December babies - I'm totally partial to that!! Hmm...maybe cause I am a december baby
