I just talked to my dad.....

to wish him a happy b-day and he started telling me how he thinks my grandparents are going to out live him . my dad has a problem which i cant spell but he gets blood clots in his legs the doc said if he doesnt quit smoking he is going to get his leg amputated. so he quit.but when i was talking to him today he was in so much pain. he kept telling me how much he loves me , and how i made his day by calling(he lives in N.C.) sorry so long just needed to talk to someone fh is at class . Thank you for listening

Has he tried the support vascular stockings?? That can help ease the pain and improve circulation.

I am sorry sweetie and don't take what he says to heart as hard as it my be. Just keep reminding him that he has so much to live for. Sometimes people need a wake up call and when it comes from family, it hits home.

I am sorry your dad isn't feeling well.. a couple of years ago, my mom developed Deep Vein Thrombosis (sp).. which was a huge blood clot in her leg.. and if I wasn't there to take her to the hospital, she would have died.. I know how serious blood clots are.. I know you made your dad feel good by calling him.. my mom is convinced my grandmother is going to outlive her as well.. They will be ok..

sorry to hear such sad news, I hope the best for him and keep reminding him about how much he has to live for, that may help him bust up his saddness......did the doctors tell them if there is anything that they can do for him? I know someone who gets those clots and they have to drain them every now and then

he has had that done but for the most part he takes blood thinners
