My diamond was loose yesterday, so I brought it to the jeweler to tighten the setting. But they were just about to close when I got there, so he told me he'd have to keep it. Which is fine, I trust this jeweler, so I have no thoughts that he'll switch the diamond. FFIL has been going to this jeweler for years, and even moreso, my diamond has a small scratch in it (family stone passed down) that is only noticeable if you look for it. So I'll know if it's switched.
Since he needed to keep it overnight, they're also re-dipping it for me b/c the white gold was starting to tarnish.
But I keep looking down at my hand thinking I lost it!!!! Can't wait to go back and pick it up today....just for peace of mind alone

Sometimes, I check my finger to make sure its still there! Even though, I've never lost or and I rarely ever take it off. But God forbid!! FH would KILL me!!!

Oooh, I hate that feeling. I leave it in my jewelry box when I go to the gym in the morning and on the walk there I always touch my thumb to the base of my ring finger and get that sinking feeling for a hot second.

I did that yesterday!!! Forgot to put it on and freaked out!
I need to bring my ring to the jeweler too... I noticed a ding in the band that needs to be fixed. I don't remember whacking my hand into anything but who knows with my klutziness. Plus platinum tends to get yucky looking with wear.
ah well your ring will be fine!

ugh! I hate that feeling! it happens to me all the time! I almost forgot it yesterday when i went to work, and I ran back into the apt to go get it.

i look down to check my finger all the time to make sure it's still there, even though I've never lost it before. so you're definitely not alone on that...

They're doing it for free for me. I made sure to bring it back to the jeweler where FH bought it for that reason. They also re-sized it for free and will pretty much do anything I need them to at no cost.
What was funny was that the guy who helped me didn't know me (since I didn't buy the ring). So when I first came in and said my diamond is loose, can you fix it? He says to me 'why don't you go where he bought it????' My response was 'he bought it here, so I am!' There is another guy there who helped FH design the ring who knows me by face and name now, but I've never spoken to this one before, so it was kind of funny
