I knew out of state weddings were different BUT... this different?
So we just got an invite for a wedding in another state from an college roommate
The outside envelope was handwritten and only addressed to me with my maiden name... she knew I got married and was invited to the wedding and knows my knew last name...
the inner envelope had my first name handwritten on it... does this mean that DH is NOT invited??
The reply card had the RSVP date handwritten on it...
then three little slips of paper came out... one stating that the wedding would be a cash bar... two more with directions on it...
We would have possibly gone because would give us an excuse to visit other family members in the area, and nice to see old friends but when she rsvped to our wedding, she just wrote no, and we didnt get a note or anything... it just seemed so impersonal...and now that DH's name isnt on the invite? NO WAY!

where is this wedding? i know weddings out of NY are different, but that has nothing to do with not inviting both members of a married couple...ie you and your dh.
strange.

that is very odd... can you call her and ask if both of you are invited? It must have been an oversight, no one invites someone to a wedding without their spouse!

Hmmm...how strange!!! Weddings elsewhere ARE very different...but I think inviting a married couple together would be standard practice across the board.

i would just reply no and leave it at that. if she wants to call you and ask you why you aren't coming, i'd let her

Could it be possible that she made her list prior to your wedding and someone else wrote the invitations for her and she didn't double check? I'd call her and ask if he's invited before totally writing this one off.

weddings outside of NY , LI more specifically are VERY different...however it is NOT right at all that she did not put your husbands name-thats just rude!
