Dress problem... So I ordered my dress in Nov. and my parents paid extra for a muslin of my measurements, rather than multiple fittings since I live in FL. They said they make a muslin of my measurements, then create the dress from scratch based on that. The saleswoman said the muslin would take about 3 months to make, so we said that's perfect because my spring break is at the end of Feb. Well I'm taking a trip up to NJ for a week on Fri. and my mom called to see if the muslin was done. I still don't have the whole story, whether someone messed up the order or what, but the woman said the muslin would be made in DECEMBER!!! OK....so it takes over a year to make a piece of cotton and then they can make my dress from scratch (satin, rhinestones, beading, etc) within 6 months???? Something doesn't make sense here and I am not a happy bride! I'll be calling them on Friday.

Sorry you're having this problem but just be thankful that it's happening so far in advance... at least there's time for things to go off track a little.

aww!! im sorry you can't try it on next week.. but as long as it's DONE CORRECTLY.. you will be happy.... although... DECEMBER is a bit ridiculous!

Im also wearing a Platinum gown, I ordered in Nov 07, and they told me that my dress won't be in until Jan 09. I guess because they are made from scratch they take extra long. They are professionals, so I'm trusting that everything will be in on time. If you don't hear anything is done by the December date they give you, then raise H*LL.

Sounds like you have a very similar time frame to me. If my dress came in by Jan. I'd have no problem. My concern is that they're not sticking to what they told me about the muslin. There's definitely a miscommunication somewhere on their end. I just need to get to the bottom of it.
You're right though girls, it is good that this is happening early so I can get it taken care of. Just annoying!

Yeah it could be worse, but make sure that you find out what exactly is going on. People truly amaze me

UPDATE: I just found out that the muslin came in today!! It turns out someone didn't understand something because my dress is supposed to be done in December, not the muslin. So everything is on the timeline it was supposed to be. Phew!

Yeah it is a pain! I'm only up here until Thursday, my Tuesday is booked, and they have no appointments at the salon on Wed., so the only option I have to try on the muslin is Thurs. morning. Pretty rushed! It might have to wait a couple months until I come up again.
