I know I've posted this before but...

I know I've posted this before but...

I hate my neighbors. Once again I am listening to the kid below me cry and scream. It's such a shame because we love our apartment and we'd be willing to stay here for another year, but I can't deal with them. I just stomped on the floor and it sounds like they took the kid outside to let him scream out there.

I don't know what I should do. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you spoken to your neighbors or your landlord?

Start throwing your own temper trantrums

I haven't spoken to them yet, but I think I have to. I understand they have a kid and they can't control when the kid is going to have outbursts, but you have to respect your neighbors right to peace and quiet. And if it only happened at 'normal times' I'd be more accepting of it. But this kid screams at 11:00 at night when we're trying to sleep.

Stacey...LOL. I should start doing that.

How much could a landlord possibly do? Tell them to tell the kid not to cry? It seems like a majorly s u c k y situation!

maybe the kid needs to be put on some medicine. athough i doubt the parents will want to hear that

if its just a case of a tantrum throwing kid then there really isn't much you can do, but if you think there are other reasons he is having these outbursts then I'd speak to your landlord.

I would try to speak to them first, and if you don't get anywhere - try speaking to the landlord. If all else fails start looking for another place.

hate to say this...but as a mom.. you cannot always control your child. This is not a dog that you can muzzle. Maybe this child is experiencing health problems, maybe it is a mental health issue, etc.
I am sorry that you are missing out on sleep- as a new mom I know I cherish it- but there may be more to this puzzle.
If you talk to the parents below- and I vote that you do- please be a bit compassionate.

I second what Phyl said. cant help but have that reaction as a mom

30 years ago, my mom had 2 toddlers and 2 infant twins...needless to say it was hard for her to get an apartment, and our neighbors..well too bad !
and thank God my parents bought a house within a few years...and when they did they were the most understanding of landlords...they took in all the families with babies that others didnt want...
I cant understand why people say 'no kids' when renting out apartments...

sorry to ramble off tangent.
Talk to your neighbor, or even lend a hand

Other than speaking to the parents...I'm not sure what you can do.
