It took me a long time to find the time to MAKE them! I bought some beautiful ribbon from Papermart.com. Dowels from Walmart. Charms from Ebay (look up Tibetan Silver charms). And with help from half the family, I'm getting them done.

But the price comes to about the same if you get them already assembled (Look up Oriental Trading for a simple one, Etsy for more elaborate & expensive ones).

I took on some tasks as a 'labor of love,' so I don't regret it. In fact, my ribbon wands are coming out to be rather pretty! But I find that some of the projects that I wanted to get to just didn't work out time-wise.

Although, that could also be because I'm juggling taking care of 3 kids!

Hope this helps! Good luck!

That's very helpful!!! Thank you!! When I looked them up on etsy they were a dollar each everywhere, which isn't terrible but when it's 3x the cost of bubbles I thought that's silly I'll make them. But oriental trading is only like $20 more then doing bubbles! That's not bad, I'm totally ok with simply ribbon wands! Thanks a bunch!!

ok so my cousin did these and I thought they were gorgeous, but i was like the only one who knew what to do with it lol... everyone else was making dumb jokes about it and thought they were stupid (no offense to anyone doing ribbon wands, I think they are pretty)... Hers were maroon ribbons and strips of ivory lace with bells on top- I think she said her mom made them but I'm not sure... I would just suggest writing somewhere like on a sign that you shake them for the bride and groom lol because at the wedding I was at, people took them, then put them right back in the basket because they thought it was a favor or something lol

I'm thinking of doing this. My church doesn't allow anything to be thrown it's either this or bubbles and I just don't think bubbles are very me. I was thinking of DIYing them but idk if I'm that ambitious.. Especially with you guys saying how time consuming it is. I may just bite the bullet and buy them on etsy.

Does anyone know how many they're going to buy? My church will be at 3pm on Friday so I've accepted that many people won't come to the church. So if 175 are invited how many should I expect at the church?

I.know I hate that there is no other options!! Well there is sparklers but at 3pm or 5pm like mine its to.light out!

I was told to expect 60% not to.show for the church, for a 3 pm ceremony I may even say 70%. For you I'd prob make about 60? I.think I'm gonna do 75 I'm inviting about 210.
If u order from esty figure it will be around $1.00 for the more simple ones to $2.00 each for one's with lace abs bells and thing like that. I think I might go the route of oriental trading! 24 for $15!!
