I know this has been a topic before on LIW but what do you do when you don't use a vendor......

Mom said she got a delivery of flowers from one of the florists we visited but did not book. She is concerned that when any of the vendors call to follow up, that she won't know what to say and will thus, defer to me. Now I don't know what to say. Some of them gave us an hour and a half of time. They were all good and it wasnt their work that kept us from booking. I hate saying NO to people.

I've gotten a few calls like this. I basically say, 'We thank you for taking the time to mee with us but FH and I have decided to go with another [insert ype of vendor here] for our wedding.' I try not to tell them which vendor. And I try to tell them that while they do great work, it just doesn't match our style or something that doesn't negate their work. Ultimately, it's your choice. I'm sure they meet with plenty of potential clients that do not book with them, so don't feel bad. It's the nature of the business.

Its all about money to all of the vendors. You just politely tell them that you thank them for their time, but you have chosen someone else. It will not hurt there feelings. Its all business.

I hate saying no to people too...some of the sales and banquet managers were so nice and I felt bad that we didn't choose them BUT I needed to keep telling myself that its NOT personal and they are in a business and they are selling a product that someone else is going to come along and buy
