Re: I know this has been posted befor but....
I am having the same concern. My wedding is in October next as well and I don't want to get anything since I plan on being couple of sizes smaller. I was told that if you order no later than six months prior, you should be okay. However some bridal stores might make you do a 'rush' order, which might cost more.
Re: I know this has been posted befor but....
i would start looking for a dress now, different manufacturers take longer to get the dress, i've seeen girls fall in love with a dress and been told it will take a year to get. the bridal store told me that my dress can be altered like 6 sizes easily, without changing the style or beading on the waist
Re: I know this has been posted befor but....
The place from where I'm ordering my dress told me not to order it until February (getting married in Sept) or else is will come in too soon and I'd have to take it home and bring it back for fittings. So...I think you have PLENTY of time if you want to wait and order after the holidays. good luck!

i'd look now! dresses aren't that hard to downsize and if you know you're going to lose a ton and are willing to wait to get it, than order it smaller, maybe an inbetween now-and-later size. dresses just take so long to make!! i ordered mine in june and get it feb!

I had that concern. I have been losing weight (45 lbs). I didn't want to wait too long so I finally ordered my dress in August (10 months before my wedding) and the salon told me that the dress can be altered up to 4 sizes. I think that it should be fine.

just be careful because because my salon told me 6-9 months for my dress...(usually towards the six end but could be towards nine) otherwise they have to 'rush' it
