I know...I'm a Bridezila...

I know...I'm a Bridezila...

I am having a total Bridezilla moment and seriously think that this wedding is slowly driving me insane.

I was talking to my 15 year old FSIL about hair/make-up/nails, etc for the wedding. I told her that I found a nail polish color that I think would look fantastic with the BM dresses...Now, I'm not saying they all need to wear the same color, it was more that I was giving an option because I randomly found this color and I thought they would like it. She says, 'Well, I already decided that I'm getting a french manicure and pedicure for your wedding.'

Seriously, I would never in a million years care about this, but for some reason it's irritating me. I know I'm being crazy...it must be PMS or something. I know that brides are not the only ones who can have french manicures, but it made me mad...I would obviously never express my irritation about this to anyone but other brides because regular people would obviously think I'm nuts (well, you girls might think I'm nuts too), so I just needed to vent...

I'm really losing my mind.

i agree... as long as their nails aren't bright orange or black or some other funky color, its not gonna matter- its not gnona be totally obvious in pics or anythign like that.. . i TOTALLY understand your bride brain, but don't let little things bug ya- its only one day!

I think you ARE losing you mind but it is okay because you are getting married. This is a crazy time in your life. Don't stress about it

I think you're upset because she's not even considering your preference as the bride. As bridal party members, we should all respect what the bride would prefer - to a reasonable point. You're probably upset because it seems that, even IF you decided THIS WAS TO BE THE NAIL COLOR FOR THE BM'S, she seemed pretty stubborn and wouldn't even consider anything but french.

You should have started off by telling her that she HAD to wear YELLOW TAFFETA for her dress... then let her 'talk you out of it' so NOTHING after that would seem that bad.

If you DO end up deciding that you would like that color on all the girls (which most people probably wouldn't notice anyway), the only way to do that would be to pay for their mani/pedis.

Maybe it was the way she said it that got to you? I mean, some people (not saying that you are like this) want all their BMs to match and your FSIL should not make a decision on what she is doing until you say 'Do whatever you want'. IMO. I don't care what my BMs do to an extent, but wait until I say it before you go making your own decisions! But it's true, as long as she is not wearing some 'different' or extremely bright color, don't let it get to you.

FSIL did the same thing with hair...hers is free to her (FILs paying). some people are put on this earth to try out patience.

IMO it really is no big deal what nail color someone chooses to wear.

Sounds like you realize that it is unreasonable to tell someone what nail polish to wear.

its just nail polish.... most people like to get a french manicure when they get all dressed up. Her nails are not going to 'compete' with yours..

Re: I know...I'm a Bridezila...

i totally get waht you're saying but honestly i've been in a bridal party before where the bride declared no one could get french mani/pedi's cuz she was and i thougth that was so stupid b/c i'm paying for the mani/pedi a nd even if i got a french...the bride is always the BRIDE...no bm will look better than her! i'ts maybe just PMS and maybe a deeper issue of her just checking in wtih you and asking your opinion. i think it's great to suggest a shade for the girls, but honestly not one color looks great on everyone so be prepared for resistance! at teh end of the day i would just let it go and as long as they didnt' have some CRAZY color, it would be fine.

One more thought... nobody is looking at the bridesmaid's manicures....Everybody will be in such awe of how beautiful you look!

Don't worry about it. You'll be too happy that day to even notice your OWN nails!

I never even thought about their nails... to me, its no big deal, but there are women on here who care about things that never even entered my mind as a possibility, so maybe you are asking the wrong person here...

(or maybe the wrong person is answering this question! )

I wouldnt sweat the small stuff, sweety!!!!

IIt's alright~ Your allowed!!! See I'm just the oppostie- I'm making them all have french!

My FSIL is 17- she showed up to my e-party w/ pink hair- so as long as there is one color on her head- I'm good.

I want my girls in a french or alight color, I do not want too much attention drawn tothem. What was the color you chose? P.S. We will all have BrideZilla moments from time to time!!

Re: I know...I'm a Bridezila...

it sounds to me it's not WHAT she said...it's HOW she said it....it's really not a big deal that she's getting a french manicure because as long as it's elegant, it'll look nice & BELIEVE ME...noone is going to notice...all eyes will be on you..HOWEVER, to say flat out that she doesnt care 'cause she's already decided what SHE wants??? nonono....this is YOUR day NOT hers...and you know what? whether 'people' think you sound crazy or not, it's YOUR DAY AND NOONE ELSES....who cares if you want them all to wear the same color??? Its your day, it's what you want, and as a bridesmaid (and your fsil), disregarding what you'd like shouldn't even be a thought in her head. It's a shame that only other brides understand!!!! she'll understand someday too...and if she ends up not doing what you want WEAR LIME GREEN TO HERS!!!!! (lol j/k of course...) now that this is a novel I'll finish with this...yes she should respect what you'd like, however - if she doesnt - dont let something so petty ruin your day.... brush it off, and when shes the only one not matching SHE'LL feel like the idiot.

Ahh, I know what you're saying. It's not that you were saying 'This is what you're all going to be wearing & that's that!' It's just that her attitude towards it was umm.....well- not the way we brides would've liked it to be. I don't expect anyone to fan me with ostrich feathers or wait on me hand & foot, but when people act like it's their decision & YOU have to deal with it, then that makes it seem like we're Bridezillas.

You're not losing your mind, you are just trying to be in control of everything. Relax.
