I literally fell out of my seat

I literally fell out of my seat

Since we are having a larger wedding I expected to pay a lot for flowers but I had no idea it would be this much. We went to our first florist and my world got rocked when I heard the price . I am having 24 high CP and 6 BM 2 junior BM 6 GM in our bridal party. What is a reasonable quote for this?

I honestly don't know what a reasonable price is, but without a doubt it's the fact that you're having all high centerpieces that's bringing the cost up. I'm guessing you've already considered the idea of mixing short and tall, but if you did do it, it would definitely bring the cost down.

Try a local florist, the prices are much more affordable.

Hope it works out for you.

i'm not doing high cps but have a large bp as well 9bm, 9 gm, 2 fg, 1 rb and have 19 centerpieces plus decorations for ceremony and got good quotes from flower barn in seaford and hidden essence. i'd definitely recommend using them, they have the most reasonable pricing. let me know if you want specifics and i'll fm you.

V,

I actually used my local florist that I've known for years. I did my research and came up with a budget for the flowers. I knew exactly how much I wanted to spend. Granted I went over by a few dollars, but not by much (I fell in love with a centerpiece that I had to have and I had some flex in other areas where I was under budget).

Another factor that will drive up your floral costs, are large bridal parties and using flowers that are out of season or the type of flower (orchids = $$$). When you go into the florist, let them know bottom line this is what I want to spend, have clippings or pictures of the type of bouquets and arrangements you like. Trust me it makes there job and your life a lot easier. My florist was impressed that I did my homework and my pricing that I worked up was not too far off. She said, 'I did not undercut her at all. I like it when brides know what they want.' It could be that I'm a little anal as my FH tells me when it comes to a project. This has definitely been one.

Below is my budget breakdown for the flowers. HTH.

The florist I'm using has a location in Queens, and there's another location in Great Neck. I'm not having CPs, but I have a huge bridal party with some more pricy flowers (1 bridal bouquet with peonies and calla lilies, 1 MOH bouquet with calla lilies, 12 BM bouquets with pink tulips and calla lilies, 8 boutonnieres with calla lilies, 1 RB boutonniere with calla liles, 2 father boutonnieres with orchids and 2 mother corsages with orchids so far) and am paying WELL under 1k. Feel free to FM me for details.

S&B Florist. She's literally 4 blocks from my house in Brooklyn. She's great.

Here's a picture of my centerpiece that she is going to do. (Selected Centerpiece - Will use Red Ginger instead of the pink, and circus and ivory roses. Substitute the pink spray roses for red spray roses.) Picture is too large to post.

As others have said..local florists often give better prices than well known 'wedding' florists

Village Florist. Although we were just quoted and have not officially given them a cent, it's a very reasonable price for all that we're getting under $2,000. Give them a call

Isn't it amazing the cost of this...i would suggest that you do some high some low...thats a big wedding. Im using B*urtons. The low are $75 and from what i read the high are $125. The cost is not by flower so you can have any flower/flowers you want. When i went there they brought in a low centerpeice and it was full and beautiful. I tend to think the high pieces take away from the room. Thats just me. With that many tables i would mix it up.....i spent more on flowers than my dress...lol
